Russia helps tame fire free of charge

Serbia did not have to pay for the use of a Russian aircraft in combating wildfires last week, officials say.

I think Serbia should gift the Russians certificates (at least 300) for free visits to Serbia's best spas, restaurants, tours. They should tell the Russians to distribute them as they choose, but preferably include those who fought the fires and their families.

"dependable ally"? The Check government donated 1 million dollars worth of fire fighting equipment to Albania, that's a good will, not we lend you planes because you need them than they say
BY THE WAY YOU DON'T NEED TO PAY US. wait for a while for Russia to ask something in return for the services

Great that the Russians sent this plane. But it would be even better if Serbia followed the Croation example and bought a fire-fighting plane for itself. It's best not to be too dependant on anybody.

I wish to say 'Thank you' to Russia for helping Serbia with the fires caused by the recent heatwave. I hope elsewhere that Bulgarians, Montenegrins, Greeks and others are also showing their appreciation for the help Russia is giving. Obviously, Greece's major partner in NATO, the USA, is too busy elsewhere putting up missile shields in Europe or pointlessly spilling blood in Iraq or sunning themselves in Camp Bondsteel while enjoying a franchised burger to spare the time and effort to aid their Hellenic ally.
