All you have to do is sit back and be patient - this is all media hype & KosovO will still remain a part of Serbia! There is a lot of outrage and upset Croatians & albanians in this forum - why? Guilt can be a real problem when not dealt with straightaway - it's always easier to point the finger at someone else who only wants to keep what's rightfully theirs.
How is it 90% when there are 300000 refugees that are Serbs and do not want Kosovo to become independent. Wouldnt that make it like 75% or something? This is also under the presumption that 100% of all albans wish it so. Totally not true. The intelectual ones realise that if they declare unilateral independence they will get nowhere.

Kosovo's independence won't be illegal, because it is the wish of 90+% of its population, and Mr Harper will certainly respect the wish of a majority of Kosovars, just as he l;ately recognized that the people of the province of Quebec is a nation. All the Kosovars are also a nation, very different from their oppressors, the Serbs.
As for the support Serbia is gaining, it only comes from their cousins the Russians who did not support them much during the wars in the Balkans. The Emperor Putin is only playing a political game with the USA and he will lose.

CANADIAN the only reason we are not self sufficient in Energy is due to Brian Mulroney and the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) For example two years ago electricity costs for Ontario users went up astronomically because of privatization of Ontario Hydro. Electricity brokers were able to purchase power in Ontario and sell it in the Eastern US market. Since the price in US was way higher than in Ontario the Ontario users had to pay the same price if they wanted electricity..
As far as oil is concerned we have more oil in Canada (Tar Sands) than the whole Middle East but the cost of extraction is way higher. We were forced by the oil lobby in Alberta to abandon Foreign Investment Review Agency (FIRA) and Petrocan which Trudeau introduced so that Canada would not be a hostage to foreign energy and after the FTA we were forced to privatize Petrocan and sell oil to America as long as it is available.

I know this I live in Canada and read the news papers, it is not likely that Canada might be one of the very few countries to recognize Kosovo's illegal independence and for that matter the Croatians will be 80% dependent on Russian energy coming via Serbia in 2009 so they too will not sacrifice energy for their countries to recognize Kosovo either. The Serbian FM is right, about 40% of the UNSC Council would not recognize Kosovo and about 70% of the EU would not, followed by at least 75% of the world not recognizing Kosovo. It looks very unlikely that Kosovo will ever have independence and as time goes by Serbia will gain more and more support, the Americans know this thus their hurry to conclude this nonsense as soon as possible.
I hope none of these liars would come to Canada. If these politicians in Belgrade would have a bit of morale sense, they would first look at the utmost important task they have to do: bring to justice all the war criminals who tarnished the image of all Serbs because of the genocide in Bosnia, the horrendous atrocities perpetrated across Bosnia and Kosovo. After, Canada could invite them to Canada, but only then! And all nations should do the same until they fully comply and show more justice for the victims of their aggressions in the Balkans.
