To the people that are now accusing the UEFA of only doing this because Partizan is from Serbia: You are very wrong.
Just last year the dutch team Feyenoord was kicked out for exactly the same reason, namely 'fans' fighting on the street and in the stadium. If you can't control your own, you don't belong in European competitions. Someone mentiond the British? They were punished for a long time after the Heizel-drama which killed so many... They used that period to actually DO something. It's been a long time since there have been real probems with English fans.

If only Serbian clubs would take their responsibility. The people that participated in the fighting in Mostar should simply NEVER be allowed near a football-stadium. You'll see how soon this barbaric behaviour is gone. And footbal is again something to go and see for your enjoyment.

I saw the whole incident on youtube and it was not the Partizan fans that started the brawl. It would be hell of a lot more fair to disqualify both teams, or give both teams fines. To only punish Partizan is not fair. Not even close to fair.

The truth is that UEFA is afraid that a Serbian team would be matched against Dinamo Zagreb or Hajduk Split. This is just an excuse to get rid of one of the Serbian teams and lessen the probability for a future high risk game (like the one between Zagreb and Red Star at Maximir in May 1990), which could even have political consequences.

If anything Zrinjski should be banned. It was THEIR home match and they couldn't control it. Furthermore, you ban Partizan!? Yet in Italy you can fix games and call into question the integrity of the game and yet you can win the Champions League. Double standard is what this is. Because you know obviously if it's a club from Bosnia and Serbia, you can't go against the Bosnians! This is ridiculous, I hope they appeal and win.

It takes two to tango and the text beneath the photo - of the sides fighting - with this article says "Partizan and Zrinjski fans in a mass brawl". So what happens to the Mostar club? Will there be a ban for them because the organizers did not know what they were doing in setting up the security for the match?

Here's a more pressing question: who is administering a sport where a fixture can result in one team being six times better than its opposition? Why even bother with such a ridiculous fixture in the first place?

So, the UK hooligans can taunt the Germans with "2 World Wars, 1 World Cup" and cause violence. Nothing happens to their team.

German skinheads can wear Nazi style clothing to matches and clash with opponents. Nothing happens to their team.

Ever go to a Croatian football/basketball/water polo game? Ustaše chants are heard in statiums and they beat opposing fans yet they're never punished.

it's sad that small numbers of holligans from various countries ruin the sport and give their respective countries a bad name.

Too bad the Balkan teams can't work together. They could be a football power force in Europe by supporting one another.
