Vojvodina Hungarians back dual citizenship

Naturally Hungary is allowed to grant citizenshop to whoever they like. But I doubt this is a smart move on their side: what looks like a way of helping Hungarians in Vojvodina might cause two things:

1. Increase migration to Hungary-proper, which in effect weakens the position of the remaining Hungarians in Vojvodina.
2. Increase social/economic tension between Hungarians and other people in Vojvodina. Because the Hungarians will be able to cross the border without having to get a Schengen-visa.

So what looks like a good idea from a Hungarian perspective, might turn out counterproductive. It would be much better if Hungary would help getting Serbia on the green-Schengen list.
But I guess this is just cheap politics over the heads of Hungarians in Vojvodina, to score some points in Budapest.

What is wrong having a duel citizenship, this is a world wide practice. I have am A us citizen and all my kids are US born citizens but I am Kosovar citizen by birth and now my kids have are Kosovar citizens even though they are US born citizens. Hey serbia, where is the problem on all this ?

So Ahmet - you are a legal US Citizen - very interesting. Why should you care about what happens to KosovO? You should worry about the taxes you need to pay in the US as you didn't care to stay in KosovO.

With Hungary's per capita 3 times that of Serbia's why would any wanna stay in Serbia?They should all emmigrate permanently to Hungary.

This is one of several such initiatives, and up to now they have failed. A few years ago Hungary had a referendum on this issue (dual citizenship for Hungarians living in neighbouring countries) although it was approved by most voters it never came into effect.
