retiredhousewife,

Kate I seem to recognize your style.
(Joe, 23. July 2007 21:28)

Really Joe? I might suggest that you and Nick share the same style to thus probably the same person. Now tell me who I am also pretending to be?

First: US loans from China is around 3% of the total loans.

Second. I would appreciate it if all the Serbian posters here write and call all the K-Albanian people terrorist and criminals like Walter is doing. It would also be very much appreciated is you write to your politicians and ask them to do the same. I am in no way being sarcastic. It really helps the Albanian cause.

Vuk writes “The US isn’t going to pour it's hard earned money into Kosovo”. Vuk US has to borrow money from China in order to continue the war in Iraq. INDRIT: US must take a second sober look at what they said and history will judge them on what they do not what they said.. US is in the court of world opinion where making laws retroactively will not pass in the UN otherwise they will sign their own death warrant. The present process will be stopped by the Security Council if a compromise is not reached. If Kosovo is granted unilateral recognition this will be a destabilizing precedent and a green light to terrorists in every nation. Turkey is planning a military operation in their Kurdish territories and the latest news is that they will enter Iraq to hunt down Kurdish terrorists. No comments from the patron USA or UK its historic ally. Its all about location my friend. Just examine the history of Turkey during the Cold War – US missiles sites aimed at Russia, spy plane bases for over flights, radio surveillance, guardian of the Dardanelles and the Bosporus and now the main route for oil from Central Asia and very soon Iraq.

According to Reuters, the Kosovo albanian group who traveled to the US informed the US that they would not declare independence on Nov 28th. Probably informed them if they did that they would be going at it alone. See they wanted to put the wagon before horse.

Well Retired, you hit the nail on the head. Yes she will probably say that but i am betting she will say do not declare unilaterly because the US will not reconize the declaration because the UN has not sancition the draft resolution. Thus Kosovo will stuck in the mud, EU is not going to funnel money into the province nor will allow a mass exodus due to a breakdown in Government. There is a 70 percent unemployment rate but people are still building homes and starting business. How lond until the bubble burst. Where does the most of imported goods come from? Serbia. If you cannot export more than u import how can u sustain an economy. No one is looking at this only independence and then what? Don't depend on the EU and US to fund the government look what happen to Iraq.

The American cash register is closing due to the huge US budget deficit being financed by China. The US cannot unilaterally support Kosovo because we are close to bankruptcy and if the Chinese refuse to lend us more billions then the US will have to stand down from its high horse in the international arena.

johny

Well one thing is for sure, the US, the UN (which is funded by the US) or the EU, do not want the Russian sphere and influence in the heart Europe; Kosovo/a. So they will pay, rather than having mini-Russias surrounding them.
Regarding min-Russias, they will also make Belgrade accept whatever the important countries in the EU have accepted if they ever want to join the EU and NATO. If Belgrade decides not to join these organizations then they better hope Russia does not go into one of its periodical recessions.
Again no matter what kind of independence Kosovo/a gets its still better than having any ties with Serbia.

Let me see from my crystal ball in to the future, here's what it says: " George bush IV says that US is backing Kosovo independence, and it's only a matter of time when Kosovo gains independence. Next date when Kosovo independence is set to happen is 28 Nov 2067 according to albanian media. Albanians are hopeful that this time its really gonna happen, preparing for celebration is already on the way in Pristina, but Moscow is still yet to support independence of serbian breakaway province. US state secretary mr. Wazitsname is hopeful that 7643rd draft proposal could be accepted in the UNSC, this could be the first time that draft regarding Kosovos independence could be actually voted on." Oh, wait this just showed up in my magic crystal ball:" Russians reject the proposal, new talks are set to start in january 2068..."

(Indrit, 23. July 2007 15:46)

NO ONE will want to go to WAR over Albanian desires for independence. There is your answer. Do you really think the US wants to face off with Serbia and Russia over this? Because I guarantee you that NO EU country does nor would they support the US just as they mostly didn't support them in Iraq, and this time we have new leaders in the UK and France.

Vuk

pre 16 godina

Yes your right housewife, even without the Russian veto somebody is going to have to pay for Kosovo be it the US or the EU a Russian veto will make things much worse.

The US isnt going to pour it's hard earned money into Kosovo after they recognise independance, why would they? They have everything they wanted already.

These talks are fairly pointless since most of whats going to happen is already set.

Since the Marti proposal is dead Kosovo's independance is looking very different compared to what Ceku has been talking about.

Housewife and Vuk
I agree, but dont forget that if it goes down that path Kosovo will be in even worse position. They will lose the mines in the North. Their unemployment will go up to 70-75%. Rediculous.

Indrit

pre 16 godina

Eventually Condy will reaffirm US pro-independence position and that Nov 28,2007 is right on schedule. There will be nothing to discuss over four months except for the modalities of the separation. Can anybody see something stopping the process now? Please suggest...

retiredhousewife

Condi will tell the Albanians, "We have to wait a few months and see what transpires within the Contact Group, and see if we can get the matter back to the UNSC? If nothing develops, go ahead and declare independence unilaterally, we will support you and I'm sure many EU states may also". Kosovo will become a frozen, separate of Belgrade, illegal territory. US will say, "We supported you and did our part. Good luck in the future". They will leave some troops there to run Bondsteel, guard their own geographic interests, etc. Then the REAL haggling will begin between the UN and EU concerning to see who will continue paying for this US/EU inflicted headache.

Vuk

pre 16 godina

I just cannot even begin to phathom how Condaleeza is going to discuss Kosovo, she clearly has no knowledge of the vast history that has taken place there and has equal ignorance of the people who live there.
What a farce, America is taking a ridicules aproach to all of this.
