Aleksandar Vučić has said that the parliament's new Kosovo <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2007&mm=07&dd=13&nav_category=90&nav_id=42411" class="text-link" target= "_blank">resolution</a> will clearly reject any form of independence.

Having lived in Kosovo for a few years now, and knowing what majority of k-albanians think, I believe that the only possibility for a joint state would be a new state, Serbija & Kosova, under UN (or EU) protectorate.

See the problem here is both Serbs and Albanians are trying to lay claim to territory they do not completely control. Nikolic and Ceku are cut from the same mold. The SRS claims sovereignty over areas the Albanians will just laugh off, and Ceku is claiming sovereignty over areas the Serbs will ignore. No one knows how to share.

The one question many Albanians have asked here, and one that I think is salient, is "how will Serbia successfully reincorporate us?" Beyond the normal mind-numbing banter that normally goes on here, this is a key issue. The answer, in my opinion, is that unless Serbia applies overwhelming force, AND the international community supports it, such a reclamation of sovereign authority by Belgrade is non-existant. If Belgrade were smart, they would come up with a resolution recognizing the extent of their power today in Kosovo, which are the Serb-held municipalities, and enclaves surrounding the cultural and religious sites.

I still think a bi-zonal confederation is the way to go, though I wonder why no one in a position to negotiate is considering it.
