@Slavko:

by comparing serbian wearing t-shirts with Karađić or Mladić-images with Hitler-Germany... you are downplaying the singularity of the Holocaust.

think it over, before you write such a nonsense.

Can you imagine if when Germany played Israel they wore T-shirts of Hitler and Himmler and shouted support for them in the match?

What is wrong with some of our Serb brothers??

It is a disgrace

It is hard to control the emotions of such a huge mob but still the police should have been out in greater force as a buffer between the opposing fans.

I saw some of this briefly on the TV news on BN last night. Can't really judge for myself who was to blame, if indeed you can pin the blame to just one side, but the police presence looked a little bit undermanned for what you might consider a match that needed big security, like when Serbia and Bosnia played the two qualifying matches to play in the World Cup in Germany last year. The people who provide the security need to bear some of the responsibility if the policing was under-strength for the occasion. If there are away supporters from Bosnia coming to the return match in Belgrade, I am certain that the policing will be very tight.

Speaking of the Serbia versus Bosnia qualifier matches, it is interesting to note that, as with those previous matches, the 'away' fans for the Mostar-Partizan game last night came from Serbia and Republika Sprska, which shows you where some people's loyalties lie. Also a bit of a shame that violence gets the headlines instead of the football action on the field.

The Partizan fans who were identified on camera should expect heavy fines or even bans when they get back to Serbia. Obviously the Serbian FA will provide assistance to Partizan where necessary but if they don't comply Partizan should face a fine from from the FA, themselves. This is what would happen in England. It has proven to work very well.
Now for the "charming" hosts of yesterday's encounter.
The majority of the blame always has to be with the organizing country. It was a high-risk fixture and the organization was clearly sub-standard. Expect a very heavy fine for Zrinjski. UEFA has been treating the Muslim-Croat Federation authorities (if you can call them that) with kid gloves for far too long.

In the UK they really stamped down heavily on racist or other types of provocative activity at football matches. It took time but it has worked pretty well.
All football supporters and players suffer because of this type of behaviour. It just brings the game and various clubs into disrepute. People who behave like this should be kicked out the ground and banned from attending games.
