Henrik, what you fail to mention is paragraph 3.7 of Annex II. The majority of those lovely protections can be abolished with a simple majority vote of the seats reserved for minorities of which there are 20. This will obviously put amazing pressure on those other minorities who hold reserved seats, as the general opinion here seems to be the Serbs of Kosovo will have “more rights than any minority on Earth”, ignoring the fact that both the Serbs of Bosnia and Kosovo under Tito have more freedom, and that’s just in our backyard. Surely the drive to change those rights will be swift in commencing.

Serbs in Kosovo have a reserved number of seats in Kosova's parlianment (10 seats) plus those they get through elections. Ahtisari's plan is a package full of positive discrimination for the Serbs. I am afraid that the Serbs all playing on all or nothing, and in the end they will get nothing.

Olf, can you with a straight face say that Serbs will be better off in Kosovo after the proposed independence? That idea has to be the "greatest joke of the century", now you hold the title over Ahmet. As far as your hatred for the Serb diaspora; many of us have relatives who live there (Serbia, which includes Kosovo) some of us live there part time or visit frequently, I have dual citizenship and yes it is our business too! How about the Albanian diaspora? Have some of them fought for the KLA? Have many of them contributed money for lobbying congress (US & others) or money for buying the implements of war? Maybe Albanians from 3000 miles away should should not be fanning the flames of war over a land that has never been yours except as a occupying people under a foreign force or government (Ottoman period, WWII under Germany). Even then, it did not belong to Albanians but to the Ottoman Empire (successor state Turkey) and in WWII Germany. Just like 1244 applies to Serbia as the Successor state to Yugoslavia.

Olf you can only speak for yourself, as far as i'm aware you are not an elected representive of the Kosovo Serbs. Your comments are merely your own opinion.

The people of Kosovo, Albanians and Serbs, alike should boycott all seperatist institutions. Serbia's seat of government is in Belgrade, that where the people of Kosovo should seek representation.

Does this mean that K-Serbs politicians are turning their backs to Belgrade politicians?
Does this mean that they are aware that their future is with Kosova not with Belgrade? I don’t blame them. In Serbia they are considered as 2nd class citizens.
It is about time they admit to themselves that Kosova issue is coming to an end with Kosovas Independence and that Ahtisari package offers more than Serbian government.
They are sick of Belgrade politics, of politics they used them for their mafia interests.
They are sick of the people from 3000 miles away telling them that Kosova is the cradle of Serbia and that the cradle should be defended no matter what.
K-Serbs have realised (since they live in Kosova) that the reality is different and that they should use their own heads to plan their future in Kosova with their neighbours Albanians. Ahtisari package has offered rights and protection for those that doubt the future Independence of Kosova.
