Serbia’s number one exporter has produced one million tons of steel in the first six months of this year.

The Smederevo steel works is modern and very well equipped. Had it been privatised by tender it would have raised hundreds of millions of dollars. Unfortunately certain members of the DOS regime sold it for a miserable $20 million in a secret deal.
US Steel has now increased production but they have also increased polution levels in Smederevo, which is having a serious impact on the health of local residents.
