This is stupid. They're wasting money. Many clubs have been fined over racism and earlier UEFA wanted tyo prevent Croatia and Hungary from having a bid to host the 2012 UEFA cup. And yet nothing has changed. They can't really expect to fight racism by forcing people to pay fines.

The racism abuse is bad and there should be punishment. However, I think the Serb FA should not be punished for the behavior of the minority of so-called fans. The police on the ground should target abusive supporters and arrest them on the spot so that they can be dealt with legally. Fining the Serb or English FA's won't change any racist attitude anywhere. I have been to football matches where I have witnessed racist abuse of players - not involving Serb teams or players I would add - by a small group of idiots and police and match stewards with radios stand in front of the supporters doing the abuse and pinpoint them and the police go into the crowd with 7 or 8 men to arrest individual trouble makers, they pull them out of the crowd and take them away. That is the way to do it: let the real Law deal with such illegal activity instead of some pointless fine for the FA's which won't change anyones attitudes. A fine is an absolute joke - virtually pointless if you want to punish the guilty and make any progress in this area - and to arrest troublemakers at the match and prosecute them to the full extent of the law is the way forward to deal with this type of problem.
