I salute and concur with you Mihajlo.
We will be called traitors probably but truth is the way forward. I hope we can get rid of this evil ideology sooner rather than later for the sake of our future generations.

Serbia should reject the EU outright. Membership in the EU will not benefit Serbia -- in the long run it isn't going to benefit anyone, as all EU proponents will eventually see as borders are stealthily and quietly eliminated. Those dangling the EU carrot on a stick are fully aware that Serbia will get a lot more stick than carrot either way. The same Europe that helped tear Yugoslavia apart limb by limb, that fueled the wars and is now promoting a land grab with the absurd and suicidal "independent Kosovo" idea is not a body for Serbia to join. Serbia must not join the EU, nor NATO. Reject the EU -- Serbia will be just fine without it; no, Serbia will be better off without it.

Mr. Lilly such logic does not seem to work for Serbia, why should it apply to you? You write that Serbia is not obeying international Law to use your words by “protecting criminals” so it is OK for Albanians to violate the law. If we all compared our actions by criminal acts of others these would be no need for International law since no one would get convicted particularly if we compare criminal acts of Serbs and Albanians to crimes committed in the name of the American people even Pol Pot that America supported with weapons would have gone free just like Ceku and Thachi are free. Ceku an Thachi are free because they are still in the service of NATO. Edward S. Herman writes and I provide a link below “Pol Pot, "worse than Hitler" until his ouster by Vietnam in 1979, then quietly supported for over a decade by the United States and its western allies (along with China) as an aid in "bleeding Vietnam," but now no longer serviceable to western policy and once again a suitable target for a war crimes trial.” http://www.zmag.org/zmag/articles/hermansept97.htm

Serbia is in Europe and Russia is in Europe, and NATO move far away from Atlantic Ocean then Serbia has another choice.

Russia is a member of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which include such fast growing economy as China. So Serbia can become a member of this organization. How Europe will like it?

SARAJEVO (Reuters) - Two armed men disguised as Muslim women in burqas held up a bank in Sarajevo and got away with some $40,000, Bosnian police said on Tuesday.

They said the pair entered a Union bank branch in the capital wearing head-to-toe black dresses and veils typical of women adhering to the orthodox Islamic code and trained guns on customers. They then made customers lie on the floor while the emptied the tills, police added.

"Everything happened in a moment. Two persons in black niqabs (burqas) came into the bank. I thought they were ladies," the Sarajevo daily Oslobodjenje quoted bank customer Mehmedalija Komarac as saying.

Women in burqas and men with long beards have become a common sight in the Bosnian capital in recent years.

This is so sad. The once beautiful, multi-ethnic city of Sarajevo is now a Muslim city in the heart of Europe. Good going EU/US, eventually the Muslims will allow us to live in Europe, if we convert, of course.

Also, no one will listen to any Serb 'rhetoric' demanding the world to abide by int'l law, when this Serb government is STILL hiding and protecting wanted war criminals, conscious of the fact that it is up to the Serbs to follow int'l law first before it can go around demanding this principle of all other nations.

Please look at all of the facts, how can Serbia be hiding the "war criminals" when they are in "Bosnia" which is being governed by the UN?

Also, regarding KosovO it is part of Serbia & will be - just you wait & see. CCCC

It is unrealistic to think that Kosovo will remain a part of Serbia. The easiest solution will be independent Kosovo, and together with Serbia to join the EU and hope for future cooperation. After all, they are neighbors. Serbia will have nothing more than problems if it wants to keep Kosovo. The whole world is moving toward the globalization, and it is not a good idea to pursue nationalistic ideology at this time.
For Albanians, it is unimaginable to be ruled by Serbia again, after the whole conflict.
Kosovar Albanians are moving forward with minority rights, on the other hand Serbia does not seem to cooperate that well for a better Balkans.

I go away on holiday for two weeks and what do I find when I come back? Certainly not an independent Kosova. In fact K.Albs seem to be further from independence. The train has not only not left the station it seems to have been cancelled, broken up and sold off as spares. Things must be fairly morose at the moment in the bars and coffee shops in Pristina. Probably a lot of mumbling and grumbling and going home to dig up there guns if Bytyci is correct. All I can say to the KLA veterans is don't forget your running shoes.

Walter,
I can understand those veterans of Kosovo's war of independence. To solve the current deadlock maybe they have no other choice. The current deadlock is preferred by Serbia and Russia but nobody else.

Please, Serbs in the diaspora..including Jovan, read the article below this one, where the EU says they can pass a resolution that transfers power to the existing institutions in Kosova, with the EU replacing unmik and with the clause that the EU may relocate it's headquarters outside Kosova at anytime.

Fatos Bytyci reports from Pristina that “Veterans of Kosovo's 1998-99 guerrilla war said on Sunday they were prepared to take up arms again if deadlock between the West and Russia continued to block the province's independence from Serbia” For the Albanian posters here who speak of peace and prepare for war such brutish minds have no insight in shaping the future of Kosovo. Such statements from the KLA express the character of the leadership that they serve. This type of leadership is delusory if they speak of sustained peace and human rights in the Balkans while they have no respect for international law and threaten war. Furthermore, the KLA leadership main interest is to hold to hegemony over the society. They may succeed for a short period since conflict achieves unity by usual lying intended for those foolish enough to be easily duped. The leadership of the KLA will learn very quickly that you can “fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time”. Even those in Britain who want an imperial form of government in Europe as they sing God Save the Queen and those in Washington who use the KLA as their puppets will quickly discard them.

As an American and former member of KFOR I fully support this goal of Serbia in theory. My only question is how does Serbia bring Kos-Met up to snuff with Serbia proper to enter into the EU. Serbia itself is ready for candidate status but its province of Kosovo is at least a decade behind just on infrastructure and countless years behind on social issues, minority rights, etc.

Kate, I agree with your comments that Serbia’s membership to the EU and Kosovo status would not be tied because to enter EU there are standards to be met. Serbia still has 1000 of war criminals which wait trial on Kosova or Serbia, depends were they are going to be arrested. So, no EU for Serbia whether Serbia want or not.

Kate brings up a good point. Serbia is in Europe. The USA is NOT! And Russia is in Europe, therefore, what Russia says matters more. But if you read enough articles on this issue, it would make you think America was in Europe and Russia was across a giant ocean. It's amazing how so many articles fail to mention this, or the fact that no diplomats are even bringing up this point. Who cares what the United States says the EU should do. Last time I checked, the USA was far away. Or do they feel they are somehow now a part of Europe after invading Kosovo 7 years ago?

This is clearly an example of desperation on their part. And im amazed that Albanians on here still claim that Independence is some kind of certain thing. If it was, then why is the greatest superpower in the world trying to bribe the Serbs into giving up Kosovo? Clearly they know something... that something being that without the UN vote, they are in trouble.

Serbia will choose Kosovo and EU that is strategy and main plan of Belgrade government, and that will happened and it will work. There is no other choice worth discussing. Regarding Kosovo, plan for EU trade do not exist, nobody normal will cut off 15% of own territory that is considered most important historical and religious place to the nation for some white Schengen list of EU candidate place. Both EU and visa free system will come at some point,so choice that USA put on is just a pathetic.
Entire region will ended up in EU, even Mr Putin supports that so cutting Kosovo for EU fast track ticket is not a realistic idea. But giving wide autonomy to Albanians with fast track EU ticket for Serbia including Kosovo(as southern Serbian province) is something to be taken into consideration by Albanians.USA should perhaps try to turn tables and offer something like that to Albanians. Take autonomy in Serbia and join EU or choose between unilateral independence( instability , confusion ,destabilization, possible war) or status quo (eternal delays in negotiations and uncertain future). So called PM of Kosovo Agim Ceku is certainly not capable of making that choice so offer should be on table probably after new elections in Kosovo in November. If Ceku, Tachi and KLA thugs disappear from political scene and Veton Souroi and moderate people take on more power, then deal will be struck for sure. Both Serbs and Albanians will live in peace and with EU passports meet each other at cheap charter flights to Ibiza or some other holiday destination in next 10-12 years. That should be realistic win win scenario. Anyone on board for it?

They declared wars on others and sent honest serbs to go and fight them. No wonder we lost. They have reduced Serbia to a rogue state from being a state that has always been with the winning powers of the West. And they are still the noisiest. These people have no shame. Worse still are those Serbs living outside Serbia, who know the truth and who keep supporting the crazy Milosevic agenda. Leave the albanians alone. They are not going run away and take Kosovo with them. A few words for those "pro-SErb" kates and johns and other "foreigners"... The EU stated quite clearly that membership to the EU and Kosovo status would not be tied.
This is clearly pressure from the US and a last ditch attempt at prising away Kosovo.
This sort of blackmail just hardens resolve. Besides which it is in all of Europe's interest to have Serbia within the EU.
The US should stay out of EU affairs.

Please, Serbs in the diaspora..including Jovan, read the article below this one, where the EU says they can pass a resolution that transfers power to the existing institutions in Kosova, with the EU replacing unmik and with the clause that the EU may relocate it's headquarters outside Kosova at anytime.

Walter,
I can understand those veterans of Kosovo's war of independence. To solve the current deadlock maybe they have no other choice. The current deadlock is preferred by Serbia and Russia but nobody else.

Please look at all of the facts, how can Serbia be hiding the "war criminals" when they are in "Bosnia" which is being governed by the UN?

Also, regarding KosovO it is part of Serbia & will be - just you wait & see. CCCC

I salute and concur with you Mihajlo.
We will be called traitors probably but truth is the way forward. I hope we can get rid of this evil ideology sooner rather than later for the sake of our future generations.
