The "Book of the Dead" states that 83% of CIVILIANS killed in the Bosnian War were muslims and 15% were serb and croat combined. What angle of one-sided slaughter do some of my serb brothers not understand?

Rackateering criminals like Karadzic, Maldic, Lukic, Arkan etc. slaughtered thens of thousands of civilians in the name of the Serbian people. The reality is, however, they did it for themselves.

Your quote says 'victims' and is including the missing (both military and civilian) in the numbers.

Here is a western report which says that:

"The figures include both the missing and those who died due to military activities or torture."

http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/06/21/europe/EU-GEN-Bosnia-War-Victims.php

See how it says "both the missing and those who died".

A Bosnian Serb newspaper which has more of the details on the report says:

http://www.nezavisne.com/vijesti.php?vijest=11059&meni=2

"Od ukupnog broja stradalih, 80.545 je ubijenih, a 16.662 osobe su nestale."

And it shows that Tokaca's numbers are from adding the dead: 80,545 to the missing: 16,662.

Tokaca's numbers are currently exactly the addition of the dead and missing. The missing are currently being counted as 'victims'.

«It is incredibly hard to digest how Germans acted like blood thirsty savage beasts instead of humans during the war against unarmed non-combatants»

And during the war in the ex-Jugoslavia, many Serbs, Croats and Muslims behaved exactly as some GErmans during WW2. I have read and heard testimonies which are just horrible, unvelievable.

Truth is painful but truth sets us free.

Ida, I don't think that we make the same lecture of the Tokaca's Report. The Research and Documentation Centre (RDC) after four years of work and it contains the names of 96,895 'victims', classified by age, gender, ethnicity and status. Out of the total number of victims, 57,523 were soldiers and 39,684 civilians. The total number also includes names of 3,372 children who died during the war. 1 600 kids were gunned soown by Serbian snipers in Sarajevo.

As you notice, this total does not include as you suggest those who have disappeared. I've read that they could be close to 20 000.

Only time will tell us the exact number. When I was a student in history, the victims for WW2 was between 40 and 50 million; now, historians talk of more than 60 000 000 victims.

Victor - This is about the Ukraine Holocaust and the horrendous things that people, including young children. went through.
Why not allow them the respect of thinking about their country and their tragedies? Poor people.

I'm going to add once again to Victor's comments as well. Tokaca says as most only another 10,000 may be added to the list, not the 50,000 or more that Victor tries to claim.

Victor, I tried to respond to something you said yesterday about the number of dead in Bosnia, but it was to late to post on that thread, so I'll post here.

I wanted to point out that Tokaca's total included the missing and dead in the total number, around 97,000. This means that finding more bodies from the war wouldn't raise the total but convert more missing into dead. The number of dead is actually 80,545 (mostly soldiers) and missing is 16,662 which then total 97,207.

This shows why finding new bodies (if indeed they were victims of the last war) will not usually add to the count, but only bring the numbers up from 80,545 towards 97,000.

And this is not counting many missing who could be alive (some people missing are in fact discovered alive) or they died in natural causes or after the war.

Plus the bodies spoke of yesterday were in a village outside of Srebrenica where the Muslim soldiers of Srebrenica raided.

By the way Tanjug reports today on the remains of 5 Serbs being handed over. The dead Serbs do not get the press so you and others think there are less of them than reality. (And I'll bet the new grave in Kosovo which was between a Serb village and a mixed area are probably Serbs kidnapped by the KLA.)

This is the Tanjug report:

REMAINS OF FIVE VICTIMS HANDED OVER TO SERB FAMILIES

6.7.2007 17:09 MERDARE, (Tanjug) - Representatives of the Serbian Government Commission for Missing Persons on Friday accepted the remains of five Serbs, who were kidnapped and then murdered by the Albanian terrorists in Kosovo and Metohija during the 1998-1999 period, Commission President Veljko Odalovic told Tanjug.

I have written many times that in 60 years from now, Bosniaks will still find mass graves left behind by the Serb army and paramilitary after their numerous massacres across Boosnia between 1992 and 1995.

This is a sad legacy for the serbian nation.
