No no no Zoran leave Ahmet in his time capsule

He knows damn well where Russia is today and where it was 7-8-9 years ago. It only pains him to admit it and accept it.

Putin will give it to Bush bluntly and frank, jeez I sure hope Bush will understand him and not set off another dumb confused face we tend to see a lot in the poor guy.

....Even when Bush is with "friends" take for example his visit to Albania, not only did he not know where geographically he was but he looked and sounded like he was learning to speak for the first time.

A whole set of " amm mmehherrre anndd uhhh..the uh Albanianrs or Kosovanians??"

Putin will turn out the winner and thats that. I see no changes, hurry up and put the stupid resolution at the UN so we can Veto and move on, negotiations won't win anything.

This is all getting very boring, Serbia's got a lot of work to do, you know rebuilding our economic power house in the Balkans, reconstructing the whole country back to its former glory lost in 1939 etc etc etc...

ahmed isufi still lives in ´99...
he will soon learn that Russia has changed. but after those predictions like Russia will back down in front of the "one and only global superpower" ( it´s so funny, I could repeat it a million times.. ) there seems to be nothing that those Albanians are not willing to believe only in order to see pink clouds in the sky...

China could bring down the US economy by simply mobilizing it´s US-Dollar reserves...
Russia is on the rise... but some boys still refuse to see what is obvious... =)

as far as I can see it, after the german chairmanship in the EU passed, the american chairmanship in the UNSC is over...

Ahmet, you don't think very highly of the Russians, we get it, that's fine you are entitled to your opinion. However you seem to be living in a time capsule. Eight years have gone by and the world has changed dramatically. In 99 the US was unchallenged Economically, militarily every which way you can think of. Russia, because of Yeltsin and his Western masters was near the brink of collapse. Now in 2007 in just a short time the situation is nearly reversed (thanks largely to putin the Great). You have the Internet, see for yourself. The US is bankrupt, every dollar we spend is borrowed from China, Russia, India, EU, Canada and so on. Russia has massive reserves and is now starting to upgrade their military (without having to borrow) so I think Russia would have no problem feeding or equipping 250 troops or 250,000 troops. The borrower is the slave of the lender, just a little saying from the Holy Bible but anyone would agree with that universal statement. Russian peacekeepers just may be coming to a neighborhood near you!

Blacky where in the world do you get ideas that russia will come to Kosova. Remener russia in 1999 it come with few soldiers and thought that it could have an impact but to no avail. russian soldiers sold their AK-47 to local Albanians, and do you know that russia was unable to feed 250 soldiers ; they used to sleep in tents at Lozica bridge. Finally they packed up and left. This is your russia Blacky.Stop being childish.

My prediction: Nothing will change.

Bush seems determined to finish what Clinton started. But I just find it odd that this is the same administration that included John Bolton, who said independence for Kosovo was wrong. Or the administration of Richard Cheney, who was against the first Kosovo intervention or the intervention in Bosnia.

My theory is they think this is the easiest road to take. Maybe if Putin can convince them to just back off and leave the region, and let them come in, then maybe there can be a solution. But I doubt it.

I do want to add one thing, which is a long shot, but it must be kept in mind... if I recall correctly, after the wars in Croatia ended with a cease fire... which lasted for two years... the Americans were acting like they wanted to find a solution, but at the same time they were training the Croatians and arming them. They were also using army intelligence against the Serbs in order to make Operation Storm happen. I highly doubt the Americans would be working with the Serbs on a similar plan, but it is important to note that even though the US may sound like they are on the side of the Albanians, that all could change if they ask for more time... the Albanians declare independence... rise up and use violence... and then the USA could simply say "We can't support you" and then back out, leaving the mess to the EU and Russians to deal with. I mean, let's face it, the US is focused on Iran and Iraq. No Russian support would mean the EU couldn't get the madate to enter Kosovo. And that would mean the US would once again have to remain there to keep the peace, even if they recognize Kosovo. I don't think they want that. Having their "Friends" turn violent would make their job easier.

Plus, let's not forget... the election is coming up... and if Hillary is the choice for the democrats, it would be rather embarrassing for Clinton because we all know how much of a supporter she is for the Kosovars. If the ALbanians are the new Serbs, and I mean that in the sense that they are the ones using violence to drive out a minority group, then that would make the whole Clinton Kosovo past look like a disaster. People could say that the whole mess started because of Clinton's policy. If things go well, then you know Clinton would say "I urged my husband to go into Kosovo. We brought peace to the region. We helped Kosovo become the country it is today." But if they turn violent, I highly doubt Clinton would be able to brag about it. What could she say? The Serbs are at fault? No. Would she justify the possible ethnic cleansing? I doubt it. And as we know, any possible violence will be directed at the UN too. That won't look too good and will be regarded as terrorism... which again, would be blamed on Clinton's original intervention. Once again, the blame goes to them.

Let me stress... I'm saying this is probably not likely, but it is an intersting alternative to what we already know. Sometimes superpowers have alterior motives.
