There are two interesting points about this story:

1. If telegrams and phone conversations did take place, as Lazarevic and Acimovic claim, then why don’t the Americans provide copies of both? The Americans (and probably the British and French, too) intercepted all communications between members of the Bosnian Serbian Army. If the Americans cannot provide proof that these orders were given, as both witnesses claim, then these stories are probably not true.

2. Even if they are true, what does this tell us about the Bosnian Serbian Army? It shows is that Serbian Officers on the Front Line behaved professionally and correctly towards their prisoners. This story, therefore, contradicts claims that Serbian soldiers killed prisoners in cold blood.

«When the prosecutor asked him why they had refused to obey the order, Lazarević replied, “because the order was insane”. »

The order was insane, I agree, and the one who gave the order was also insane, and I have named Mladic. This is too bad that so many other officers who participated blindly in this huge massacre of 8000 boys and men did not have the spinal cord and the character of Mr Acimovic, and refuse categorically to commit such a crime. Too bad all the soldiers who participated in the «systematic campaign » of rape did not have the morals and the faith to refuse such orders as to rape helpless women? Can we simply call these guys «men»??

This is too bad that the Serb army did not have more well-tempered men as Officer Acimovic!
