«... the majority of civilian death took place at the beginning of the war and 83% of civilian deaths were muslims (approx. 33,000). »

I have read a report years ago saying that during the summer of 1992, 50 000 Muslims were killed in 43 municipalities in Bosnia. Witnesses say army trucks full of corpses leaving villages towards unknown destinations.

Of course, Serbs like Ida, Matthew, and others, so ashamed of what their people did deny such claims, and I am glad that you are writing the same thing I have written months ago.

When will my Serb brothers admit to what was done in their name? Karadzic, Mladic, Arkan and those working with them had a policy of evacuating the areas they had captured in fighting of non-Serbs, by bussing, besieging, eviction, rape and slaughter. Yes, each side committed some war crimes, but Karadzic and Mladic made it their policy to clear area only for Serbs.

A recent report (see Book of the Dead) showed the majority of civilian death took place at the beginning of the war and 83% of civilian deaths were muslims (approx. 33,000). Serb and Croat combined civilian deaths account for 15%(approx. 6,000). Do you see the difference?

We all know that in the early days of the war the power lay in the hands of the JNA and the Serb forces supplied from Serbia. Serb forces took 70% of the land of Bosnia. It was during this time that the majority of atrocities took place.

Look at the Karadzic attempt to wipe out the muslims culture in Bosnia, hundreds of destroyed mosques and schools. The reverse is not true; compare Banja Luka and Sarajevo.

Look at the statement of one of the ministers of Karadzic:
"With their mosques, you must not just break the minarets," he said, "You've got to shake up the foundations because that means they cannot build another. Do that,
and they'll want to go. They'll just leave by themselves."
-- Simo Drljaca, appointed by Radovan Karadzic as regional police chief
for five municipalities in the Prijedor area, interviewed by Chuck Sudetic,
21 August 1992

The reality is that in the name of the Serb people a war was started by a group of crimminals Karadzic, Mladic, Arkan, Seselj's paramilitaries to cleanse the land by any means necessary. In the name of Serbs, tens of thousands of non-Serb civilians were massacred and thousands of women were systematically raped. All this for the corrupted idea of clearing the land for "the Serb Republic".

When will the Serb nation admit to itself the same about the Karadzic regime and its corrupted ideology?

Just say you're Muslim, and you were a victim in Bosnia of Serb atrocities and, you will get American asylum immediately. You can even become a US citizen, and not have to speak English to pass the qualification prerequisite exam all other immigrants need to know. Move to St. Louis, MO., that's where all the other Bosnian Muslim are settled. (I am ashamed to be an American(.

Thanks Victor for the genocide definition. It' what the Croations did to Serbs, Romas, Jews, etc., during WWII, rifgt? We know what it means. People are stating that the International Courts are biased, and I agree. As long as these courts are sponsered by the USA, they will be biased. That is what they were intended to be. The courts were set up to prosecute Serbian war criminals, to justify America's so called "Humanitarian Interventions". Please grow up, this is how the USA operates. I have lived here over 50 years, I can read between the lines.

The real reality that Bosniak supporters have to accept is that they chose war when Izetbegovic removed his signature from a peace agreement. Serbs also fought alongside Bosniaks in Western Bosnia under the leadership of Fikrat Abdic, and had a Mehmet Sokolovic Brigade of Bosniaks in the VRS. For charges of a total genocide to stick there can be no exceptions.

The second thing that these supporters have to do is to analyze the casualty figures presented- in which 33,000 Bosniak civilians were listed as killed in the war. When combined with the other figure of 89% of deaths being male on all warring sides and with the figure of 3,300 deaths for all ethnic groups under the age of 18 it is impossible for a genocide to have been committed on the entire population of Bosniaks as the figures are too small and don't match the charges.

Men provided most of the fighters in the conflict and official soldiers were often joined by grassroots fighters who would be classified otherwise as civilians. I remember Nasir Oric's indictment indicating that his raids included a significant number of Bosniak civilians who pillaged homes for food and supplies for example. The most common thing was for people to pick up a rifle as a civilian to defend their personal property when the enemy closed in.

Srebrenica in July of 1995 is really the only legitimate subject of debate in terms of genocide. There is certainly an argument for classifying it as such due to the (still often disputed) high death toll. But again, it is debateable as women and children were specifically spared the violence. It should be noted that when classified as genocide Srebrenica legally broadened the definition of genocide as it had previously only been used when men, women, and children had been collectively killed. The term "gendercide" might be more appropriate for this particular event.

Victor, the American government knows that Bosnian Muslims are hiding in the U.S.; therefore, there is no need to send a notice to anyone. The fact that no Bosnian Muslims are being arrested in Chicago shows what the Serbs have been saying all along. The Hague is politically motivated, which makes it an inherently illegitimate farce. Furthermore, the U.S. still claims that it went to war against the Serbs for “humanitarian” reasons in Kosovo, but if that were true then the U.S. should have bombed the Kosovar Albanians in order to protect the Romani (Gypsy) population. The cold hard fact is that the U.S. is not and has never been against ethnic cleansing. The fact is that the U.S. picks and chooses who will be ethnically cleansed. In the war in Yugoslavia, the U.S. was against the supposed ethnic cleansing of Bosnian Muslims, Croats and Albanians, but the U.S. sponsored and supported the ethnic cleansing of Serbs in Krajina and conveniently looked the other way and did not lift a finger when the Gypsy population was ethnically cleansed from Kosovo.

Philip, same old serbian rhetoric and propaganda.

Ida, look at the definition of a genocide: this is what happened in Bosnia against the Muslims. When an army herds 8000 boys and men and kill them all, it is a genocidal act, and that's exactly the conclusion that the ICTY came to.

According to me, the Serbs from Bosnia and Serbia were ready to commit a genocide in order to create a New Serb State, GREATER SERBIA.

Like it ot not, this is the reality.

The Bosnian deaths were mostly soldiers. Plus, the figure is adding missing into the figure.

The real breakdown is around 80,000 dead and 16,667 missing.

Many of those missing are likely Bosnian Muslims who don't step forward (they've been found alive while Serbs have been convicted of killing them in some cases) or who died from natural causes or accidents.

Many of the Muslims were killed by the Croats during the Croat-Muslim war (Croats were more solid fighters than the Muslims and devasted the Muslim part of Mostar) and also fighting against the Muslim followers of Fikret Abdic.

The numbers of Muslims killed is too small to be a genocide, and when they killed Serbs wherever they had the strength.

The Muslim Green Berets shot Sarajevo Serbs at a wedding party parade and killed the father of the groom.

That incident started the division of Sarajevo, the barricades and then the war.

Ida, a genocide happened in Bosnia, sous la gouverne of the Bosnian Serbs. Did you forget? Accoding to the last figures, over 65 000 Muslims were killed by the Serbs, and over 8000 in Srebrenica alone, and these Serbs hiding in the USA allegedly participated in the massacre.

Furthemore, if you are sure that Bosnian Muslims who participated in atrocities in Bosnia against the Serbs, and are now hiding in the USA, you should send a notice to the american government.
