Nikshala I agree. Serbs have the right to celebrate Vidovdan in their own land. Albanians are even free to celebtrate their flag day in Serbia. However allowing an organisation like Car Lazar to come to Kosovo, would only lead to clashes between extremist from both sides. That's what KFOR worries about, and if you read the other article Victor, which is what the Serbian goverment worries about also. So to claim that Serbia sends out a negative signal and that they are treating war criminals as VIP is completly nonsense.

Like I said b4, normal serbs a welcome to come and celebrate, but not paramilitary groups with blood on thier hands, who have threatened to attack Kosovo and kill civilians if Kosovo gains independence.

NATO has decided to stop them, and rightly so.

«Most of the members oc Car Lazar guard are 'veterans' (i.e. directly implicated in all the war crimes across ex-YU...»

If they were implicated in crimes, how come Serbia does not arrest them and indict them with crimes?

Their place is in jail and not in a demonstration.

In Canada, there are no alleged criminals on the streets; they are in jail.

I must say once again that Serbia send a very negative signal to the world because of all these war criminals who are treated as VIP in Serbia and often as HEROES!

Nikshala you do admit the kla is still around and you are correct. They (the Serbs) should not be able to celebrate Vidovdan? that sounds like religious persecution.Nothing new from Kosovo Albanians. We have every right to celebrate in our own land. This is a very important event to allow Serbs to come back and celebrate the Albanians can score points by not staring trouble.

So what if America has blacklisted them as a terrorist organisation. We all know that America will take them off their list when it needs to use them for something.

And to Nikshala, the KLA actually are much worse. Don't forget that the KLA were terrorists before America needed them, not the Tsar Lazar Guard

Many of the Tsar Lazar people are war criminals and I hope UNMIK and KFOR arrest them so they can face justice for all the massacres they committed in Kosovo against Albanians during 1998-1999.

Yesterday their leader in an interview with Kosovo daily Express said: You remember Srebrenica. UN is not going to support you and we can do whatever we want.

They are threatening with genocide and no one has been jailed yet.

These Albanian wannabe-nationalists should not destroy Kosovo's democratic future. The best thing they can do is to be calm and wait for independence to come. No need for them!!

The KLA IS just as bad, you just prefer to look at them as freedom fighters. Remember when the US state dept. had them listed as terrorists, only to rescind when they exploited them as there fighting land force.

Anyone in the Guard of Tsar Lazar who advocates violence should go to jail for inciting violence, its plain and simple. If any of them are guilty of war crimes, here is an opportunity for KFOR to arrest them.

That being said, of course they have every single right to march in their own country for a cause they believe in as long as it’s a peaceful message.

AKSH should also be in jail for inciting violence.

"'veterans' (i.e. directly implicated in all the war crimes across ex-YU) (nikshala, Tuesday, 26 June, 2007, 19:37)"
Having served in the armed forces in Serbia does not automatically make you a criminal guilty of war crimes, we need to be realistic. I'm willing to bet that a higher percentage of KLA members engaged in war crimes then Serbian members of the armed forces. Keep in mind ALL Serbs are required to serve. There are many who didn't agree with the war but were law abiding citizens. The Serbian army is fairly large and if everyone committed war crimes, I think we would have seen a much higher body count. 10,000 dead out of a population of 2,000,000 is not that high for a war. Think about the percentage of dead in WWII.

While I do not support AKSH, and I do think local serbs shoulb be allowed to celebrate the 28th, I do not think KFOR and KPS should allow Car Lazar in south of Kosova.

Most of the members oc Car Lazar guard are 'veterans' (i.e. directly implicated in all the war crimes across ex-YU)and they have directly threatened population of Kosova. They arrrival is a huge provocation and insult to all the victims of Kosovan war.

B4 everyone from the serbs camp starts going on about freedom of movemetn and right ot celebrate and blah blah blah - like I said local serbs should be welcome to celebrate, but not these criminals who where even fighting themselves earlier today.

How would serbs react if 1000 ex-KLA fighters decided to march to Nis to remeber thousands of albanians expelled by serbs in 1878? (even though KLA is not in the same level as these criminals)

I think they would react much worse than albanians will.
