The Bosnian Serbs were held responsible for the genocide of the Bosniak Muslims, and the Serbs from Serbia were held responsible for not stopping this genocide. Then, what is your conclusion?

I would like to tell Roger that I agree that 'many' on all sides are guilty of crimes and atrocities that have shocked the conscience of humanity. It is difficult to understand that what happened in Germany in the 40s has taught very little to the Serbs, the Croats and the Muslims. I have read reports of atrocities I considered to be exactly the same committed by the Nazis: throwing people alive in fire, burning people alive in their homes, throwing people from a cliff, or a roof, or the third or sourth story of a building.

Quite disturbing!

Sorry Victor, it's not a shame for all Serbs. I am a Serbian, live in the USA, and this is not my shame. I had nothing to do with anything in the former Yugoslavia. Please stop being judge, jury and executioner. Whatever your roots are, if they are from the Balkans, you are also dirty. Stop taking this moral high road with people, you are not in a position to judge.

Likely it was their own choice and their own leadership which wanted to temporarily remove themselves from a war situation.

Many believed the fighting and situation would only be several weeks to a few months and they expected to go back in a relatively short time. Most did not believe the war would last 3 1/2 years.

The Muslims had their own forces in Zvornik during this time and were carrying out atrocities against the Serbs. Serbs trapped in Muslim controlled territory, such as Sarajevo, were NOT allowed to leave without permission of the government/military.

Serbs were desperate to leave the Muslim controlled parts of Sarajevo but were trapped.

Bosnian Muslims sent their women and children to Serbia, some who stayed in Serbia for a while, to be sheltered and fed, while they stayed behind to kill off Serbs.

There's no mention of injuries so it appears a peaceful trip out of Bosnia.

Victor,
When an individual continually demonizes only one group again and again he or she lacks credible. To remind you...Regarding the civil war in Bosnia...A report mentioned on this site and released last week by the Sarajevo-based Research and Documentation Center, showed in terms of ethnicity, 65.88 per cent were Bosnian Muslims or Bosniaks (64,036), Serbs comprised 25.62 per cent (24,906), Croats 8.01 per cent (7,788) and various others 0.49 per cent". Of these 39,684 victims were civilians, while 57,523 are listed as military personnel.
Patriarch Pavle also said “Everyone is guilty. There are criminals on every side. God alone knows who has the greatest blame or who has committed the most sins. The Church must condemn all atrocities that are committed, no matter what the faith or origin of the person committing them may be. No sin committed by one person justifies a sin committed by another. No one can justify his sins by saying someone else is guilty of a crime".

As Patriarch Pavle said: «What the Serbs have done has tarnished the soul of the nation...» This is also true in Zvornik where 10s of 1000s were deported, abused, depossessed of their villages, their homes, their belongings...

Videos made for propaganda use are not used to show the world that a genocide happened in Bosnia, genocide denied by the Serbs, to the point that they even refused to turn in those who planned it, organized it and executed it.

This is a shame for Serbia and all Serbs.
