Decentralization is an economic term, meaning the government having less control. There has been enough decentralization, no need for more.

I'm all for decentralization -- if that process includes the decentralization of Voivodina, too. The three historical regions of Srem, Banat & Bachka ought to have their own self-government. Those who live in Voivodina know what I am talking about.

Actually, this is not a bad idea. I was thinking about this last night when leafing through Tocqueville's Democracy in America. One of the central components for democratic growth and attitudinal acceptance, said Tocqueville, was the character of small government in every American town. Grass-roots developments in localities by the people who understand their localities the most, were the best way to consolidate democracy, and this is something that could only benefit Serbia. If this is being pushed by Belgrade in Kosovo in regards to the Serbian municipalities, why shouldn't this be pushed in all areas of Serbia? Not only that, but Serbian history since 1804, in one way, could be interpreted as a conflict between local government and centralizing tendencies in Belgrade.
