Afrim I said if Kosovo Albanians dared to attack Serbs in Kosovo after you declared unilateral independence, if any. In such a case it would not be a question of bravery but constitutional duty for the Serbian government to act and protect its citizens. The rule of law remember?

Afrim Hoxha

pre 16 godina

Yeah Tesla, use the constitutional right and attack Kosova... I doubt if Kostunica or Tadic will be brave enough to start another war which will of course be lost just like every other war you started in the past 18 years.

Tesla

There is no reason to get too excited by the propaganda against Serbs right now. Russia is back and willing to help. If Kosovo Albanians dare to attack Serbs after unilateral declaration of independence the Serbian government has a constitutional duty to act.

Victor, the churches that you mention are being built by the kosovar government. Its sad that they have been destroyed but its also sad that you dont mention the catholic churches that were destroyed by serbs, you dont mention the muslim mosques that were destroyed by serbs but you only mention the orthodox churches destroyed by albanians. You should be fair, not one sided.
AHILLEAS, whenever Serbs follow a leader like Milosevic, then after their horror crimes they have to leave the crime scenes. Its shame for you to mention Srebrenica even after the serbs killed thousands of bosnians within few days only. Be more realistic, look all the sides dont just look what happens with Serbs after they do their crimes.
KATE, the laws are made to serve to people the best way possible, the right to selfdecision is an international law and therefore the albanians are using it to make Kosova an independent country.
You talk and yell about breaking the international law but you are forgetting that you the serbs broke the most important law in this world, the law to live... Your serb government killed thousands of people. Just now another mass grave of albanians is being found in Serbia... Can't you see the shame that after your serb military killed people they sent their dead bodies all over in Serbia just to hide the crimes? does this fact not tell you that its enough with your blind propaganda? do you ever stop and think that there must be something wrong what happened? do you ever stop and think why is the world supporting albanians more and more everyday and abandoning serbs? Do you ever stop and think that you should open your eyes and look around to reality?
PB, the kosovars have a claim to the whole country of Kosova because it belongs to them. The serb posters here like to mention the international law, so by international law the Albanians are using the selfdecision law to declare Kosova an independent country. Its an international law, so why not use it.
The albanian majority and every other minority supports the independence of Kosova, only the serb minority does not support it? so does any of you say that even that the majority and 6-7 minority groups should listen to one minority group? dont you see that this can not work?

Afrim and Victor, you must be listening to your politicians since they are the only ones who are claiming independence is on the way. Read the news and form your own opinions and try not to read too deep into the meanings. When Russia says that it will veto any new resolution, it means they will veto the resolution. There isn't a special meaning in the words somewhere. And why is it that the albanians only start commenting on boards when the news goes their way but don't say a word when it isn't something they want to hear? We call it selective hearing. You can't pick and choose the news like your politicians do. You have to read it all and accept reality. No independence without Serbian approval.

Princip, Kate and the rest,

You've spent months agonising over whether kosovo /a will become independent or not. Well the independence is coming, slowly but surely.

If anyone deserves independence, it's long-suffering Kosovo.
I wish Kosovo/a nothing but the best.

This goes to show that officials in Belgrade are still not properly representing Kosovo Serbs. More than anyone else, K Serbs have been the manipulative tool of oppotunists in Belgrade since 1986. They cry and bemoan the loss of Serbia's heart, its cradle, its birthplace, but they stay happily and comfortable in Belgrade. They may take occasional trips to Kosovo, get a few photos with the locals, tour the monasteries they claim they will never abandon while simultaneoulsy pushing for partition, and then go back home. Everyone shouts "Kosovo je Srbije!" but no one does anything about it. The nationalism mobilizes Albanian counteractivities who in turn target Serb enclaves in Kosovo, while the talking heads in Belgrade sit and stare, waiting for Russia to save the day.

My sympathies have always resided primarily in the plight of the Kosovo Serbs, as they seem to be getting screwed by everyone. Ivanovic is exactly right in his assertions. He's down in the trenches everyday, not Tadic or Kostunica or Nikolic. And regardless of what happens to Kosovo, everyone agrees that it will NOT be adminstered by Belgrade, so there better be a clear and tangible plan for how to protect the Serb communities and how they will work in Kosovo other than creating another wave of refugees. It's time these people cease being the tools of propaganda and start being treated like human beings with rights, dignities, and securities.

Leaders of serbia are betrying Serbs from KOSOVA with empty promisess. They should have the guts and tell them the truth about their fate. serbia will no longer rule KOSOVA and K-serbs will be equel citizens of new country called KOSOVA. I can not beleive that you guys from serb camp are in state of denial on mean time another massive grave has been discovered in serbia proper with victims coming from Kosova . Justv 2-3 weeks before serbbia sourrounded and pulled its military mashinery the bodies were carried along so as to hide the crimes against humanity. shame on you, shame on you !!!!!!

I think this gentleman made up his mind long time ago about hiself already. It's his choice of course. This is from 2004:
But in case Kosovo becomes independent, Ivanovic said he would take the first train. "I would not stay here even a minute more. If Kosovo becomes independent, Kosovo will remain without Serbs," Ivanovic concluded.
Serbs should declare their 'independence' from Kosovo if they are recognised by the usual suspects. If they are attacked Serbian government has a constitutional duty to protect its citizens.

Afrim - I agree with Victor. There are well catalogued crimes against Serbs in Kosovo. And who exactly gets to decide who is guilty and who is innocent? The mob?
I also agree with Ahilleas that the entire situation totally incredible. Just as Nato set a precedent by bombing Serbia without a UNSC Resolution, so the international community (so-called) is now planning to take 15% of sovereign territory to hand over as a pay off to a separatist group.
I never thought that we would be pinning the hopes for global security and respect for law on Russia.

Of course, the Serbs should stay, Kosovo is Serbia and always will be! I know many Serbs would just like to give in and leave, the problem is will the exodus of Serbs from lands that they have owned and lived on for centuries ever stop? The more you give up the more they will want. A line must be drawn somewhere, this far and no further. Kosovo is that line! What the Serbian government should do is offer subsidies, financial incentives, free health care, free or inexpensive land, 0% or very low interest loans to buy homes or start a business to any Serb anywhere in the world to go live and repopulate Kosovo regardless of the final solution. If they did this I would be the first to sign up and move to Kosovo. I would have as many children as I could, start a business and through demographics, eventually Kosovo would have more Serbs than Albanians, thus ending the argument over demographics.

PB

The issue is simple Victor. Partition. neither population will be harrassed by the other. only sticking point seems to be the albanian insistence of acquiring all of Kosovo, includng the Serb dominated parts. I'd like Afrim to explain why Albanians have a claim over the serbian patrs of kosovo.

How many more "pack-up"s must Serbs do since they started packing up back in 1992???

Bihac, Srebrenica, Krajina...

Some one has to pay for all these crimes against a sovereign nation.

I would suggest to serbs in «Kosova to stay because they will be well treated as always, except the criminals who did horrors.»

Afrim, are you sure of this! There are in Kosovo Albanian radicals who do not want the Serbs to live with them. I will say that all the Serbs who stayed in Kosovo after the war have nothing to do with crimes and horrors, as you say. The criminals left before the arriving of NATO. Since then, I have read that the Serbs in Kosovo have been killed, churches and monasteries have been destroyed and innocent civilians are living in constant fear.

Serbs have been living in Kosovo for generations and I think that they should be treated as Albanians NOW and after independance if you have it. What are your thoughts on this issue?

This statement of Mr. Ivanovic shows it very clear that the ststus of Kosova is independent while he asks the Serb leaders to either tell the Serbs in Kosova to stay or to pack up.
I hope that some posters here get the message that Kosova is independent and no other way.
I would suggest to serbs in Kosova to stay because they will be well treated as always, except the criminals who did horrors.
Thanks to Mr. Ivanovic for finally accepting the reality that Kosova is becoming an independent country.
For the Kosova Serbs the president is Fatmir Sejdiu not Boris Tadic, and primeminister is Agim Ceku, not Vojislav Kostunica.

Thanks.
