Nadeem - of course i condemn the Srebrenica massacre. Mladic should be in the hague to answer for what he has done. i don't think many serbs would disagree with that position apart from the fact that they know who Naser Oric is and what he did, and they see he only got 2 years for his crimes!!! they perceive the West, who are in control of the Hague, as being biased. we only want to see equality. if the serbs see equality, a lot of the current problems like arresting mladic and kardzic would disappear overnight.

Nadeem - exactly. Oric received only 2 years for the thousands of Serbs that he murdered. Oric and Mladic should be cell buddies for the rest of their lives for their respective massacres.

Victor, if food really was the issue with Oric, then why did he massacre the Serb civilians in the surounding villages, rather than just steal the food?

Mladic only blockaded food supplies after the raids on serb villages by oric, not before.food wasn't the issue. the USA wanted to bomb the bosnian serbs and used Naser Oric as agent provocateur. it was perfect. Mladic did exactly what they wanted and that was used to justify america's intervention in bosnia.

PB,I now read your comments twice or 3 times and now I'm realizing I may have overreacted but at the same time you should have stated that you condemn the Srebrenica massacre and lastly are you sure that Naser Oric got acquitted because I read on-line that he's serving a 2 year sentence for his alleged crimes which doesn't sit well with President Boris Tadic of Serbia

PB, even if it's true that the Srebrenica massacre was in retaliation for the actions of Naser Oric I hope to God you're not condoning the Srebrenica massacre because as long as I disapprove the essential brutalization of innocent Serbs then I hope you can condemn the unjustified maltreatment of innocent Bosnians. If my comments are putting you or others off,I ain't taking back what I've typed and finally regarding the maltreatment of innocent Serbs there was an article in the B92 website regarding a Chinese man getting arrested for attacking one or more Serb with a knife in Belgrade and believe me I know the pain one of these Serbs experienced when his fingers got injured from the knife wounds so therefore the suspect's arrest was warranted and if neccessary just because his country and Serbia maintain friendly diplomatic relations with each other doesn't mean he should receive preferential treatment and finally provided it's relevant I ain't resentful about a Serb youth hockey team defeating its Canadian youth counterpart at a international youth hockey tournament held in Bedford or Halifax,Nova Scotia,Canada this year and in addition I have no problem that these Serb youngsters appreciated Canadian hospitality.

PB, and what about the blockaid of Srebrenica by Mladic? Time after time, France, England, GErmany, the USA, they all asked Mladic to let the food go in, and when Mladic permitted the trucks to pass, they were stopped by Arkan and other paramilitaries, and the food was sent to the Serbs in the surrounding village.

Can you tell me, according to you, what would have been Mladic's reactions if he had been at Oric's place?

Pan, you must be very ignorant of the circumstances to the build up to the srebrenica massacre then. Naser Oric killed thousands of Serbs in the surrounding villages of Srebrenica, which (for Victors benefit) is the reason why Mladic blockaded Srebrenica. Many countries knew what Oric was doing but the USA would not disarm ORic knowing full well the firestorm that would follow. They knew that Mladic would retaliate. even the UN comander at that time, General Rose, was extremely frustarted by the US position on Naser Oric. he knew what the end result would be. Mladic should be brought to the Hague to be made accountable for the crimes he committed at Srebrenica, but so should Oric. He's was acquitted because he was in collusion with the USA, so there was no way they could find him guilty, with him knowing what he knows. This is the reason why i think that Serbia is unwilling at the moment) to hand Mladic over. they see the Hague as one sided. In my opinion, only when all sides have been treated equaly will the balkan troubles finally be laid to rest. until then, there will be simmerring tensions.

And if Mladic would had let the trucks go in Srebrenica to feed the population, the Bosnians would have not left Srebrenica to go into the surrounding Serb villages to find something to eat.

During a war you can defeat the enemy, but you should not starve him or humiliate him. That's what Mladic did.

PB

The Srebrenica massacre would never had occurred had the West forcibly disarmed Naser Oric and his forces, therby preventing him to raid Serb villages and killing thousands of civilians in the process. The Srebrenica massacre was in retaliation for his actions. a distasteful episode all round.
