can you serbs name the croatian generals the streets are named after? and did they at all go into serbia and start a war? and quit your propaganda--the kuna is an old croatian currency dating back to the middle ages. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croatian_kuna

«Don't forget my dear friend that it is the Serbs (not trying to involve all Serbs here) started these wars committing horrendous crimes.»

Artan, you have lot of courage and I congratulate you for the objective tone. Imagine, there are Serbs (?) from the USA and the UK that accuse me of gene ralizing when I use the substantive 'Serb'! They do not understand that I mean those who started the wars, those who committed the horrendous crimes, those who are the war criminals.

I would keep preciously your post because it's a long time I have not read an opinion coming from a Serb which reflects so much the reality and the truth of these terrible wars which have tarnished the image of all Serbs in Europe and even in America.

Job, in your words "I know croatia has a name after thier general. But we'r Serbs, remember, the world would freak out if we did it." Don't forget my dear friend that it is the Serbs (not trying to involve all Serbs here) started these wars committing horrendous crimes. Maybe you'd want to start naming streets after your Serb heroes who did genocide in Srebrenica too. You know, I used to try to get over the war in my country Kosovo and forget the miseries I've gone through, saying oh it was Milosevic and his manipulated people who did all these, the Serbs are good people otherwise. However, seeing comments like yours I'm afraid puts the message across that maybe the Serbian people were just like Milosevic. I still don't believe so.

Why do b92 let Victor post so many ridiculous comments.
It's not up to Serbia to change their image, no matter what we do it is never good enough for the 'west'.
The west marginalize Serbia more than the Germans did to the Jews during WW2.

Victor, as usual, you're over-reacting.

Im a Yugoslav, i believed in the SFRY, however, i dont believe these streets should be named after JNA commanders, because after all, we were attacking citizens of the former SFRY.

As for what croatia is doing, as long as they arent naming streets Dr. Ante Pavelic boulevard or something like that, were good.

Novi Sad made the right call.

Forget naming streets after generals. Who needs that? But I don't see Victor protesting the Croats' choice to name their streets after officers during the Ustasha days! And they changed their currency to the same they used during those days. It tells you where their hearts are. It's long overdue to stop demonizing the Serbs and using them as the whipping boy for everything that is wrong in the Balkans. Were it not for the Serbs during WWII most of those people wouldn't even be here today.

Imagine if Germany would decide, even today, 60 years after the war to name a street in honour of Reinhard Heydrich or Dr Mengele!

It's simple incomprehensible that Serbs from Novi Sad had even the thought to name a street in honour of the commander of a paramilitary unit who, as Arkan, is responsible for the death of civilians!

It is not 'thoughts' like these that would help Serbia to change its image in th e world.

I know croatia has a name after thier general. But we'r Serbs, remember, the world would freak out if we did it. So its best to tell the world to shove it; we can always name the street during a war and then no one would care.
