Jack,

I see. So, those pictures of Albanians herded out to some remote field in Macedonia refuged in mud... they were "escorted" by their gracious hosts, the JNA, for their own protection? Where have I heard of people being sent out to camps for their "own protection"... hmmm.. sounds familiar.

How do you radicals come up with this stuff?

Look, I am not in favor of Kosovo going independant - as long as Serbia proves it has some way of maintaining democracy in the region. If Serbia continues to vote in your buddies, the radicals, then what are the Kosovars supposed to do?

What is the population of Serbia? Is Serbia ready to accept hundreds of thousands of Albanian voters who will have great influence in steering Serbian policy for generations to come?? Are you willing to give them that, Jack?

Or, will the "hospitality" of the JNA present itself again to gracioulsy "escort" them out to the mud?

You seem to have a very selective memory. It was a week after NATO began its bombing campaign that large numbers of people began to leave Kosovo. There are several reasons for the people to leave:
1. NATO originally believed they would only have to bomb for a couple of days to make Milosevic accept their outrageous demands for an occupation of rump Yugoslavia. When capitulation didn't happen NATO and UCK/TMK requested a general Albanian exodus as a PR stunt to bolster a prolonged bombing and possibly a ground invasion.
2. People were fleeing the 24hr bombing(including Albs/Serbs/Rom and portions of all ethnic groups, not just Albanians).
3. People were fleeing from localised fighting between JNA and UCK.
4. JNA began moving civilians out of a buffer zone along the Macedonia/Albania border to protect them from high intensity warfare should a ground invasion happen.

PS. If 'millions' of ethnic Albanians left Kosovo who were in all the crowds lining the roads and cheering when KFOR moved into the province?????

Victor,

Allow me to answer Philip's question:

It is because of NATO. If it wasn't for NATO, you would have millions of Kosovo Albanians living in refugee camps all over Europe - possibly in your back yard. You should thank NATO for sparing you from that.

Nations are honestly trying to come to terms with past war crimes, and punish those responsible. And some bloggers here just can't wait to spread their venom. I sure am glad I am not so consumed with hate, it must be a horrible burden to carry.

Victor you logical reasoning skills have never been better. How come Serbia has so many minorites currently living in it??

«...were members of the “Dušan Silni” paramilitary group. »

This is the first time I hear of this paramilitary unit. Again, the indictees are Serbs. It shows that the Serb aggressors were well organized in the pursuit of the final objective, which was the cleansing on non-Serbs from all territories necessary for the creation of the New Serbian State: GREATER SERBIA!
