Time is on Serbia's side. While the EU currently supports the Ahtisaari plan, they have also signaled that there will be no recognition if it fails in the UNSC. The idea that lasting peace can be achieved only with mutual agreement of all parties is gaining ground and winning in Europe. The Americans will not risk a rift with Europe over Kosovo. After the Ahtisaari plan fails in the UN, look for the EU pressuring for renemewed negotiations.

Talks are OK if Partition is on the table. But I dont think the Serb Govnmt will do that. My opinion: let the north (Without Mitrovica) go to Serbia, western Kosova join Albania and forget about it.

The Russians have said that they can not be more Serbian then Serbs and therefore through such letters the Serbian Government is setting out that it will not accept such an imposed solution that is against International norms and law - the Russians do not need to be more Serbian then the Serbs all that they need do is vote on behalf of the Serbian Democratic Government who have set out their position! The Russians have said all along that such haste in imposing a one-sided and clearly unacceptable folly will be futile & counterproductive - there can be no surprises for what follows next in the UN SC!

I look forward to the new talks that will be taking shape in June!!!
