Aeroflot is not as bad as some people think. First off Aeroflot would not own all of JAT, they would buy a portion of it...perhaps 49%.

This could be a very good deal, Aeroflot is a fast growing airline. They have stated they would keep all JAT employee's..if not hire even more, settle any and all debts and buy new aircraft.

JAT has an outstanding record of safety and is one of the best airlines in Europe in terms of pilot training and safety.

It would still be Serbian pilots flying the plane, it would still be Serbian ground crew keeping the planes in good shape.

I wish I knew exactly how much Aerflot offered for JAT. I think this is a very good deal and we should and will definitely consider it. There is nothing to lose but everything to gain in this deal.

I hope this topic will unravel soon, very exciting. :)

I just was reading that Aeroflot offered to buy 49% of Alitalia. So, do they have a money to buy JAT, perhaps yes but even for Aeroflot JAT is big, but belive that some transaction would be arranged to provide Russions a favore for political support of Kosovo.

If you're going to sell it, at least sell it to a decent airline with a strong brand and good safety record. There's very little that would get me into an Aeroflot plane. You really don't want JAT associated with that sort of feeling.
