Hahahaha, Behar, don't even think about insulting Serbia's armed forces. don't think Turkish troops are great fighters - they aren't. Turkey pick on small defenceless countries and populations, e.g. 80 million Turks versus 700,000 Greek Cypriots.

The Turkish government doesn't even acknowledge that crimes against Armenians occurred there. How can they possibly have the moral weight to support Kosovo independence?

Obviously the poor Kurds deserve a homeland and have suffered more then anyone except for maybe the Roma. The Kurds have been fighting for Independence longer then the Montenegrins did. Neither the Roma nor the Kurds have a country to call their own, and Turkey would like to give the Albanians TWO countries!

While I am sympathetic to the plight of the Albanians in Kosovo, I do strongly believe that there are others that have been waiting far longer and who desperately need a homeland of their own immediately to protect them from abuses. Now Turkey wants to invade Iraq to attack the Kurds there too! It’s the only stable area of Iraq left, and they want to destroy that.

To me, there is absolutely 100% no difference whatsoever between the situation in Iraq with the Kurds and the situation in Kosovo with the Albanians. Every single claim I've seen to indicate Kosovo is unique is true for the Kurds of Iraq. Can someone explain to me why Kosovo is unique and doesn't apply to the Kurds? Besides the fact that its in the Balkans.

Someone please explain to me why the Kurds should not have their own country and the Albanians of Kosovo need one immediately?

Why are the Albanians of Kosovo so much more deserving of freedom then the Kurds?

We must treat ALL situations equally...

Turkey had to lead in this process of Kosovo independency. They know better than anybody else history and historical processes about and around Kosovo. Worth to mention are 500 years of dominance and historical events during that period, disintegration of Otoman empire, agreement with Yu for migration of Albanians to Turkey, treatment and rights of Turks in Kosovo, carefulness about historical and cultural heritage, etc, etc... And, last but not least is determination of Turkish community of Kosovo for independent Kosovo. Different statement of Turkey wouldn't make any sense...

PB and IDA:take care when you refere to Turks. Just remember position of Greeks, your alies during the 1974 in Cyprus: fast and effective military action in Cyprus. Proud for the soldiers trained by Turkish military instructors.

A Kurdish mine killed 6 Turkish soldiers yesterday: http://www.thenewanatolian.com/tna-26672.html

So, in the same spirit of rewarding violence and self-determination, the Kurds should now get an autonomous area and subsequently their own state.

Serbia should be the first country to send troops to keep the peace in an independent Kurdistan when the Kurds declare independence from Turkey.
