Let me explain a matter: Russia will propose nothing, while importance of Serbia for the west is well known (1995 bombing S-forces in Bosnia, 1999 72 days heavy bombing, (10 years of isolation, embargo, sanctions etc. etc). I can assure you Kosova will become independent by June. We will all witness that.
We keep hearing that a vote will take lpace in days or weeks but it never seems to materialise. i don't think it will. the West are just stringing the Albanians pretending to be on their side. Serbia is a much more usefeul ally to the West than Albania.

The Russians have alreay stated that Ahtissari's proposal is unacceptable. They will probably put in amendments and hand it to the West on a take-it-or-leave-it basis. The West, desperate for a UN resolution to mandate an EU takeover from UNMIK, and to save Nato troops from possible violence, might just decide to bite the bullet.
