Russia will probably put a price tag on its veto and offer it to the West, Kosovo prime minister Agim Ceku has said.

I'm not sure partition is the correct word to use when talking about final status. After all it is difficult to partition something that does not exist at the present. It would be more exact and less inflamatory to talk about the hypothetical Republic of Kosovas borders starting at the Ibar. By talking about partition it gives people the impression that the K-Albanians are losing something where as the fact is they do not have north-Ibar now.

I am not saying this to provoke anyone just to point out the poor use of language by politicians.

The price will likely be:

1. partition of Kosovo (at least de facto if not de jure) so that Russia's prestige as protector of the Serbs can be solidified.

2. Western agreement that Kosovo can be applied to Georgia, Moldova etc. (ie. it will not be the unique situation claimed by the West)

4. Other conditions can be attached too eg. Kosovo will not join Nato, withdrawal of Nato from Bondsteel etc. You name it, the Russians probably got it on their list!

Tatiana, that is a flat-out-lie, becasue PM Ceku did not say Russia will vote yes but said that russia will not veto the resolution.

Undiplomatic? Need i remind you that it was people like him that got Kosovo its freedom and soon independence. And it was your diplomats who lost every single arguement since the 90's.

Our leaders managed to gather the support of the whole civilised world except the coutry of Ivan the Terrible and his minions. They managed to get Nato to bomb you and support our independence.

What is more diplomatic than that?

What do you have to show for diplomacy?
