Albanian Kosovars still call themselves Albanians. There never has been a separate Kosovar nationality. It's like Northern Ireland-Ulster -even in the painfully long resolution of NI's status, only two options can and ever will be exercised: NI either remains part of UK, or joins with the southern Republic of Ireland. In effect however, the recent peace settlements have entailed a quasi joint sovereignty by both the Republic of Ireland (having a de jure role), and the UK. Why can't Serbia and Albania exercise a joint sovereignty over Kosovo, somewhat like the Spanish Bishop of Urgel, and the French President being both the Princes ex officio of the Principality of Andorra?
