I do not know for how much longer some serbs here will try to keep themselves happy with their fiction stories.
Talking about dependence... is it the consumer who is dependent on the seller or the seller on the consumer? Last time i checked its the seller who is dependent on the consumer... meaning that Russia is in the bad position, but oh, I forgot, for serbs its the oposite of whatever it is for the rest of the world.
The fact that we have a mass of people heading for the west looking for jobs shows that the west is the winner. The fact that more eastern countries are joining EU and NATO shows that the WEST is the winner. And the biggest fact that even Serbia is trying to join the west shows that the west is the winner.
Hey serbs, by the way, so if you are saying that Russia is winning and EU is loosing then why does your government want to join EU and not Russia? Would love to hear an answer on this one...

@Zoran.
How do you think that "EU is very dependent on Russia". If they buy oil and gas from Russia I think they are both dependent on each either, more ever if you know the foundations of business, always seller have to take care of its client, because the client can substitute it with another supplier. EU and USA made a mistake when they considered Russia as a partner, and i strongly believe they will review this matter soon. Don't forget that those nations overcome the dark era when Russia was a power and they won't let it turn back.

Rice: Impossible For Kosovo To Remain In Serbia
On Tuesday, American Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice stated that Kosovo will never be a part of Serbia again, reports radio Eho Moskvi.
That statement was released a few hours after Rice met with Russia’s head of diplomacy, Sergej Lavrov in Moscow, at talks where one of the aims was to reach an agreement for the future of Kosovo.

Russia strongly disapproves of the proposed UN plan which foresees the supervised independence of Kosovo, and there is the possibility that they will use their right of veto in the security council.
Rice said for radio Eho Moskvi that Kosovo will no longer be a part of Serbia. “That is impossible”, reports the radio station on their website.

although I am not such an ethusiast in regard to Russia like many other Serbs, I can remember very well how some Albanians here were belittling Russia and it´s role in international affairs.

now that the third (!) high rank US-official came to Russia in such a short span of time... they should have gotten the message, I guess.

or, perhaps "the only global superpower" is just acting as if it has to take care of Russia...

and the media-coverage about the Fort-Dix-terror-plot does the rest...

Zoran, NO I don't think too! Don't try to fool yourself and the other readers. EVERYONE in the world well knows the Russian economical capacity, and everyone is fully aware that they can not survive without good cooperation of the US and EU, actually they (Russians) are desperately fighting to join the WTO (what will surely suit them in exchange for Kosova's vote at the UN SC), but it seems that, currently, that is to high price to pay for Kosova, what doesn’t mean it will not happen! However there are millions and millions of privileges that Russia can get from the west in exchange of the positive vote. These days visits? are, obviously, a trade meetings between the west and Russia.

To Zoran,

Kosovar Albanians will not be given independence, they will get the independence by themselves, either way or another, and Serbia can not do anything to stop it. Freedom is not something that is granted, people have to fight for it and that is what Kosovar Albanians will do, since you Serbs don't give them any other choice. Vive la liberte.

Top Russian officials said "no compromise on missile defense & KOSOVO". I believe that Russia has stated it's position without any doubt! Now Russia has another bargaining chip, the new partnership pact with the EU on trade & ENERGY. The EU is very dependant on Russia for energy, I think that a secure supply of energy is a bit more important than giving the K-Albanians independence, don't you?

Zoran, if you think that Russia has more influence, just look at your government now. It was EU and USA influences that forced your country to change the government into a democratic one. It was USA and EU who forced the pro russian Nikolic to resign and give the post to Tadic's party.
EU and USA were able to influence even in your own government.

Zoran, equally Russia needs someone to buy its energy so it doesnt go bankrupt and I somehow doubt Russia will support Serbia to that level, in particular given that serbia has given so much heartache to russia. Russia and Serbia have no re-integration plans or any idea how to solve re-integration problems. All they have is an idea, however they have not thought of the consequences of how they will make it happen. In any case, I doubt that west will take preaching from russia regarding human rights, minority rights or democracy.

Russia is the most important country in Europe and enough European leaders recognize this fact so it is high time that ALL policymakers in my country(USA)start treating Russia as an equal indispensable partner on any issue that is of mutual concern.Enough nonsense about Serbs and Albanians.America needs Russia an infinite number of ways more than it needs Albanians or Serbs. This is REALITY and no amount of lobbying money, especially from the small pro-Albanian camp should obscure this simple fact that a kindergarten kid in the US can deduce. As an EDUCATED American Russia means more to my survival and my childrens future than some backwater Kosovo.I am getting increasingly annoyed at my government servants who need a lesson in America 101.
