The EU officials will address the issue of political stalemate in Serbia on Monday, Beta reports.

No it only means that the EU needs a signal that Serbia will want to approach any rapprochement with the EU in good faith. No other leader or party is a better sign of this than Tadic. If a radical or strong nationalist is placed in one of the security sector leadership positions would present a move towards breaching trust and abilities to further cooperation.

“The EU does not want to create an impression of any meddling into Serbia’s internal affairs, even though it can be deduced that too much time and effort have been spent in finding a way out of the complex situation which is not beneficial to Serbia and its relations with the EU,” the diplomats said."

So reading in between the lines, the EU wants to meddle without appearing to do so.
