What comes across in the comments posted on this site is that even the more well-read, and apparently english-speaking, population of Serbia is still denying their country's responsibility in the mass killing and genocide of Bosnian civilians. Their comments are akin to the muslim extremists who claim that the U.S. knocked down the world trade center, or the various fringe groups that deny the holocaust took place. Mind you, the likes of Bob and Ida are probably the more progressive elements of Serbia's population. Perhaps this is why Serbia will remain a rouge state within Europe. Yes, Bob and Ida, the Bosnians killed themselves. It's only logical, isn't it? They did so in order to hasten international intervention so that they could be stopped from further killing themselves, raping themselves, and ethnically cleansing 49% of their territory. As a result of the international intervention, the Bosnians finally achieved their ultimate goals - to live in fractured state where half their country is still in the hands of war criminals.

The French marines in Sarajevo, also later that same year, in a thorough investigation caught the Bosnian Muslims redhanded sniping at civilians and the UN.

The French found that the Bosnian Muslims would start up attacks when there was no shooting or provocation by the Serbs. They also found that when the Bosnian Muslims knew they were being watched (they were using a the form Parliamentary building) by having a tank parked where they could see it, that all sniping activity in that sector ceased. This shows that the Bosnian Muslims were the main provokers during that time and in that area.

They counted on media such as the BBC to make propaganda of the attacks and automatically blame the Serbs.

I wonder where Bob was hanging out that gave him the courage to proceed with that rather limp character assassination of Martin Bell.

If he wants to impress those of us who have been familiar with Martin Bell, his honesty and courage over many years he could try demonstrating his own honesty by dealing with the rest of the evidence backing Bell's assessment of the Markale massacre.

Martin Bell, advocate of the 'journalism of attachment'. And people wonder why more and more journalists are being killed.

Bell's opinion as to who was responsible for the markale attack is irrelevant. He is not a military expert, nor was either from the UNPROFOR team that carried out the investigation.

Is the suppositition that ArBiH slaughtered their own people for propaganda? Numerous accounts by from other sources (diplomats/UNPROFOR) believe so.

Has this happened before? Undoubtely yes.

In the BBC's own series 'Dogs of War', mercenaries who fought for the HVO explained how they set explosions to trick UN observers to believe an attack had been launched by the VRS and that the HVO was acting in 'legitimate defense'.

Izetbegovic is also on record for saying that Independence is worth all costs. Go figure.

Journalists like Martin Bell had a nice cosy war hanging out in the Holiday Inn (apart from a shrapnel wound he recieved whilst filming), swapping stories or just padding out every day to the bosnian government propaganda ministry. They quite happily reported 150,000 bosnians had been killed in the first year of the war i.e. an average of 450 casualties a day, something not supported by any creditable information.

But hey, why use color when it's all so nice in black and white?
