Hi Jack!

Ruecker said Serbs were “free to come to Kosovo”. I would like to see those overseers travel through Kosovo and identify themselves Serbian tourists so they can get a real look at what "freedom" for Serbs in Kosovo is.

Roots

To KS - you make me laugh even more - the whole "Kosova" fell from the sky to Albanians,
as it has never been your country, and now you are trying to steal it even you have independent country of Albania where you are free to return at any time. There are so many Serbians all over the world whose ancestors are from Kosovo, and will definitely return to their land, as soon as the living conditions will be normal.

Thankyou for pointing out that has been difficult for the Yugoslav authorities to get any non-albanians to live in kosovo in the last few decades. Even when offered incentives and even when they had nothing because they were refugees they still didn't want to be in kosovo.

That is amazing. The ethnic Albanians had built up such a reputation for cruelty and abuse of non-albanians over the decades that even a refugee would turn down a home/food/job if it was in kosovo.

And people in the West want to reward them with a State of their own.

I will be protesting to my MEP about any plans to support independence and any plans to use my tax money to support a Kosova Republic of Albanian Peoples(K.R.A.P.).

And K.R.A.P. can forget any ideas about joining the EU. Any country not in SAA talks now isn't getting into the EU for at least 30-40 years.

Best thing for the ethnic Albanians is to say sorry to Serbia and promise to be good Serbian Citizens from now on.

People you make me laugh with some of your comments here. You are trying to force somebody to come back to Kosova?Remember eighties and nineties when Serbia lounched program for returners in Kosova they (povratnici)(not only) where benefitted whith ,Jobs,Appartmens, almost abducted from albanians,
Registration of their children in university,
emploiment of their wives, and other members of famillies,etc.etc.It has become a joke in Kosova, "If you are Serb you can get job even for your pet".
And as a result that program failed couldn't reach the goal so they turned otherway they,(government) helped by Branisllava"Buba" Morina in the name of humanity took all refugees from Croatia (remember "oluja") and Bosnia put them on cattlewagons and without asking them brought in Kosova,I remember as it happened today when they arrived in Railway station in Peja 100mfrom my house, government took them new Hauses in Babaloc near Deqani,Junik Near the Tekstile Factory and In Peja(Pec) where they usurped half of children with eye disabbilities (blind) special school wich is 20 m. far from my house, also usurped the Middle school of Economy in Peje ,filled it with refugees from Knin. They where there untill 1999 most of them fleed for Canada &USA.
Even those measures taken from their government didn't stop them in Kosova.
Serbs are teached to rule in Kosova wich is now impossible so thats the reason of their hessitation to come back.

Kosovas doors are opened for all who want to live but forget that "something will fall from sky".

To Ari - "staging theatre shows is not the way to go" etc...
How come?- exactly the "staging theatre shows" with Albanians
fled from Kosovo at the beginnig of bombing in 1999 for few weeks of "tv-show", have helped
them to get support of NATO and return to Kosovo, while bombing over 1o milion people.
Now, for Serbians to return to their homes nobody is helping and nothing is done in three years.
Not to mention how many Serbs have been killed or abused in Kosovo since 1999, while KFOR have not even tried to protect them, and there is nobody else to protect non-Albanian population.

EA - am I not right in thinking that the term 'ethnic cleansing' originated to describe the Albanian population of Kosovo driving out Serbs?

I think your 'welcome' is weasel words.

Matthew

pre 17 godina

Considering many commentators here have expressed their opinion that the majority of Serbs who lived in Kosovo "have blood on their hands", I think your comment is completely uncalled for.

In addition, no modern civilized country in the world would strip its people of their citizenship because they have "blood" on their hands, or if they are not "loyal" citizens.

I'm sorry, but it is not up to you who has the "right" to live in Kosovo, and who does not. All this talk about who has "blood" on their hands and who does not? Its crazy, do you have some sort of crystal ball to tell?

How would you feel if I said any Albanians who committed retaliatory attacks against Serbs or who participated in the 2004 riots should not be allowed to live in Kosovo?

Its ridiculous.

I strongly agree that we need reconciliation and for the full truth to come out, and that many Albanians unjustly suffered. But these sorts of statements and conditions are obviously illegal and unreasonable.

uhh, sorry but kosovo is not independant yet. the eu is slowly turning its head to serbias side. However, even i have to ask if anyone here knows.. what does serbia really get out of keeping kosovo? theres no economic interest, the province is well behind "european" standards. whats the point of keeping kosovo? it will cost billions to improve the infrastructure, and keeping kosovo will only cause problems with the albanians, attacks on serbs will increase, and albanians will be able to go to central serbia and vojvodina and THEN we have a REAL problem.

EA - If that's true they wouldn't have been terrorised out in the first place. And please don't deny this - the UN has a catalogue of terror launched against these people, as you know. Whenever K-Serbs stage a protest that is not good news. Last time they protested, we had Milosevic come to power.
Of course, they have the right to come back to their homes. Nobody is denying that. But please, staging theatre shows is not the way to go.
I wonder how many of these guys have actually asked to go back through the Kosovo and UN institutions that handle the return process.
I want everyone of those guys to prove with paper that KS Government and UNDP were not willing to help them return. If they can do that, they a have a case. If they can't, then this is all a sham and they should go protest in Serbia for spreading fears amongst them and discouraging them to return to their homes so that Belgrade can argue for division of Kosovo and ethnicly clean territories.

Ruecker said Serbs were “free to come to Kosovo”. I would like to see those overseers travel through Kosovo and identify themselves Serbian tourists so they can get a real look at what "freedom" for Serbs in Kosovo is.
