"Be it in a united EU or in small Albania we will prosper, get rich and live happy lives just like we have in the US, Switserland and UK."

How will you prosper in an Albania that has never and never will prosper? Kosovars were always better off than their independent brothers across the border, at least economically. You're happy in US and Switzerland because, thank God, these countries are not run by Albanians.

Andrija, you asked why B92 doesnt censor comments - Because democracy can only exist if everyone is allowed to share their opinion. In a multiethnic state, ALL these opinions "belong to their people." Censorship is dictatorship. And if you chose to listen only to what you believe in, you are cutting yourself off from reality.

all I see is that Albanians use mostly western nick-names...in order to "show " their servitude towards the US and others...

on the other side pro-serbian comment-writers are honestly using their names, since they do not have to hide behind artificial identities..

furthermore, Albanians are only reiterating false accusations and threats and blackmail...while the Serbs are arguing with international law and UN-charter...
isn´t that interesting?

quite interesting to see, indeed.

Have the editorial staff at B92 no sence of belonging with their people? Why are the Albanians and other Serbophobes like Blanco constitently allowed to post slanderous comments with no consequences, why are these posts not erased immediatly?

hi everybody!!
one thing for kate:
I understand ur passion about the Kosovo case and it's ur right, but one thing you fail to understand when u u talk about international laws.I don't know where these laws were during the balcan wars in 1990s,I belive that when the international laws are in Serbia's interests need to be folloved othervise not.Serbia maybe still would have the chance to have Kosovo under if it wasn't for their nacionalist hardheaded leaders, but I belive both parts think there's no way back and there's no other solution than independence unless we want to spark another war in the balcan wich I belive either side wouldn't like it.
P.S to B92 members:I heard of ur work to bring the democracy in Serbia thru ur TV and radio,I wish u guys good luck and keep up the good work.
thank you.

Everyone knows there is no other resulution but indipendence for Kosovo. The real question here is what position will the EU take. See the problem with EU is that it wants to be like US (a united nation) well this is the chance to prove it can. See in reality under the EU umbrella Kosovo, Albania and Serbia sooner will be nothing else but meerly states. Unfortunaly that day will be long before it arives. As for all the Serbian commenters in here, we understand your furstration but what did you expect to occupy our lands and get away with it? As for the Albanians well it cannot get worst then we have had. Be it in a united EU or in small Albania we will prosper, get rich and live happy lives just like we have in the US, Switserland and UK.

Kate, you bring up many important issues that I see repeated here, and in the words of Serbia’s leaders (and Russia’s) over and over. However, I disagree with several statements. First of all, noone is trying to “annex” Kosovo – that would indicate a neighboring state wants to add it to their territory. The Contact Group have said that Kosovo cannot become part of a neighboring country, it is one their guiding principles. Kosovo’s independence is not a “theft” of land – noone is trying to “steal” Kosovo, but the people that live there want to divorce themselves from any authority of Serbia. The history of the world in the past 20 years shows MANY instances of what you call “borders changed randomly due to the make-up of the population.” Though not all of these changes have been for the better, it has happened across the world over and over – the breakup of the USSR, the “velvet divorce” of Czechoslovakia, the dissolution of Yugoslavia, just to name a few instances. To show you the scope of this changing world, the UN had 159 members in 1990; today, there are 192 with Montenegro being the latest addition. Regarding UNSC Resolution 1244 – this was put into place as an interim measure until a political solution could be found to Kosovo, and a political solution is being sought now. The UN develops international law, and with a new resolution can change 1244. And finally, when all the politicians and diplomats and pundits have had their say, the only thing that can keep violence at bay is the decision of the people to not harm each other.

Thank all of you for blessing America. I appreciate that. We can use all the blessing we can get.

I see why the K-Albanians are like broken records, they ape the US. They only see their own side, and they want it now. Simply amazing. America pushing their agenda for economic and strategic reasons, and the K-Albanians for their hatred of Serbia. Thank God that their are still other nations in the world that are at least willing to look at this situation a bit more closely, before all joining hands and jumping off a cliff.

P.S., if I hear that Nokia joke one more time, I will puke my burek on my keyboard.

It is still the same size today as it was in 1991.

Dear Kate,

Even after reading (with your suggestion) your comment once again (more PROPERLY, in my opinion), I must admit I still stay behind my previous statement (read: comment). That means you were unable to convince me for contrary.
Don’t worry so much, be happy.

Dear Kate,

Even metaphorically you failed to hide a huge hate towards Albanians, at the same time towards US who according to you are so bored with actual problems that are eagerly looking forward to find a new, fresh target (of course once they get rid of Kosovo).
I would suggest turning on reality; firstly, you can’t disregard just like that the motivation of 99% Kosovo’s residents, the motivation that derives from the essential needs I wouldn’t commence now counting them. 99% of Kosovo’s people are conscious of unfeasibility to remaining under Serbian management whatever it might emerge in the future. Since, recently they had experienced most severe punishment. With the only reason; they failed to comply with Milosevic’s vision! I assume in a different way importance of human life comparing to territory, unlike you do (based on your comment). You are unsuccessfully copying those who (read: politicians) without any rational sense make such nonsense; who cry over15% of territory blaming at least 2 million people, for their aspirations. I think that territory is nothing comparing to even a human life.
I would also suggest to leave aside xenophobic declarations in order to un-rooting once for ever the hatred, anachronisms etc. for sake of the bright future, where anyone can decide for her/his destiny.

So im sory for u serbs for loosing Kosovo, ur country is powerless and cannot do anything at all to keep Kosovo.

Ethnic cleansing in Serbia and Kosovo 1887 Ethnic cleansing of Albanians in south Serbia, only in the Toplica region 30 000 Albanians were forced to leave 1912 in the balkan wars ethic cleansing of Albanians from Kosovo and Macedonia for Turkey and Albania, 1945-1955 mass killings of albanians in Kosovo (Tivar 3000 Albanian Men's were killed Gjilan and Drenica massacre),
1960's thousands of albanians were forced to leave Kosovo fled to Turkey. and the latest one is 1990-1999(1990-1994 about 400 000 Albanians left Kosovo for Economic and Serb pressure fled to West European Countries 1998-1999, about 10 000 Albanians were Killed from Serbian Army and Paramilitary forces and about 3 000 missing.

this is only one part of bad history about what happened to Albanians in Kosovo and Serbia.

These are Reasons why any Albanian would not accept to go back under the Serbian rule.

I wonder haw some people count on that international law.
That law was written by Men not by God and by Men is rewritten and will always be rewritten whenever it needs. In any section of that law is not writen that some nation is allowed to kill or expell another. Or some country bomb or attack another and it happend several times and is happening nowadays.
So forget those laws!

I realise how urgently the US wants to sort this and move on to new targets in the world, but the simple fact remains that Kosovo is a province of Serbia.
Under all international laws it remains a province of Serbia, and no outside body or nation can legally annex 15% of a sovereign territory or there would be chaos around the globe.
The European states know this, and the aftermath of full independence, which is why they will not agree to this illegal theft of land. Regardless of whether there are 99% ethnic Albanians in this province of Serbia, they should expect no more than full autonomy, otherwise borders could be changed randomly due to the make-up of the population which would be crazy. You could have a mass migration followed by a land grab anywhere.
And for those who believe Serbia has somehow lost the right to Kosovo: an agreement was made at the end of the war by Serbia and the UN/ Nato that Kosovo remained part of Serbia.
It was signed and set in law. This cannot now be changed because of political motives.
And perhaps the most worrying argument is to hear representatives of the strongest 17 nation military alliance in the world say that the theft of this land is required to keep violence at bay. Are you insane??! People can't live at the mercy of the most violent and be protected by a toothless force which just gives in to them.
Have the lunatics taken over the asylum?
