Slovakia: UN must determine Kosovo status

I am sure Lavrov will point out the lack of credibility the EU Troika have in convincing Russian when it has no credibility in convincing all it's member states and no longer wishes to air the subject for fear of creating a complete schism!!!

I am certian Lavrov will once again be very explict with regards Russia's position - that the EU chooses to delude itself that Russia's position is uncertian and changeable is another matter! I mean how often do the Russians need to say we do not agree with the plan offered by Ahtisaari for "intelligent" EU representatives to get the message - Njet!!!

I love reading all of this from Lavrov and all other russian politicans. Democracy, freedom, equal rights... News from just last couple of weeks from russia:
- 150 arrested for asking freedom, among them Gary Kasparov
- Kasparov arrested by ex-KGB for leading a demostration for freedom and democracy
- 2000 people where beaten up during the new demostrations in Moscow

Would that mean the UN resolution should be subject to possible Russia veto? In other words no solution at all or leave things as they are. Kosova needs a new UN resolution that can be applicable and can garantee the President Ahtisari plan. If someone threaten to use veto for the new UN resolution than Kosova solution can not be held hostage for ever by an irresponsible member of a Security Council, unilateral recognition will follow. I just don't understand the EU's position. Do they think that they can take the plan which barely anyone likes and all of a sudden convince everyone? No one likes it but the UK and US! Who in the world do you think will have anything to do with you after your statlet becomes "independent" knowing they are dealing with a country with no respect of the very creed which makes up the EU today called COMPROMISE ? That is an incorrect reading of what Slovakia said (the same can be said in regards to the previous agreement of the EU members to back solving the issue through the UN).
Neither of these imply that this resolution must be Ahtisaari's.

What he's saying is that the EU must ensure that the US agrees not to unilaterally recognize Kosovo's independence and that the matter must be settled in the UNSC. Knowing Ahtisaari's proposal has no support from Russia, means that particular resolution will not pass. All they are supporting are continued negotiations. This is all the EU members could agree on. That the solution must be made via a UN Resolution. Hence, all this means is no unilateral declaration of independence for Kosovo. The EU will not recognize you. Even the US seems to be backing down on such plans.

As far as I know, in 7th ( if that is the date when Serbs arrived in Balkans , BTW when did your tribe enter planet Earth ? )century there was only Orthodox christianity, they split up on 1054 according to my history reading.
Thus how did any catholic church even enter Kosovo if the land was orthodox from the beginning?
