"Kosovo IS Albanian land."

Sidi, ...and because of Kosmet is albanian land, because of that you are degrading yourself by making advances to the US...? :)
boy, where is your pride?

I still ask myself whether you think about the lines you write, before you click the "send" button.

“Kosovo Albanians - your title describes your ethnicity, i.e. albanian, which entitles you to albanian land, not serbian land.”

That’s exactly the dictator Milosevic policy in Kosovo that caused NATO to bomb Serbia in 1999.

Sidi, you have a poor command of the English language for someone who puports to have lived in the USA for 10 years. let me explain the details to you. According to the UN, Kosovo is legally owned by Serbia - fact. we all know the reason why there is no serb govt there at the moment - KLA terrorism. As albanians seem to consider that it is OK for a minority (i.e. Albanians) to secede illegally from a country, then the Serbs should apply the same "rule of law" in Kosovo and split Kosovo if it ever becomes recognised and decides to declare independence. why stop there. we should ask the minorities in albania if they also would like to secede from albania and become independent? what do you think? good idea? if you do, then i'll happily vote to allow you to become independent. do we have an agreement?

Sidi

Kosovo IS Albanian land. There is not a shred of Serbian government in it, and there never will be as long as we are 95% of the population. You occupied it, you couldn't keep it, you lost it! Cry me a river! And as far as the USA not accepting me? LOL I have held a US passport since ohhh about 10 years or so. Come again!

FREDY, you Albanians like to talk about legitimacy and the rule of law. well, if you haven't noticed there is no such state of Kosovo/a. wakey, wakey - no country in the world recognises Kosovo, therefore it isn't a state. Kosovo Albanians - your title describes your ethnicity, i.e. albanian, which entitles you to albanian land, not serbian land.

To Princip:

You are putting so much hope in Russia and its veto, what will definitely disappoint you at the end (meaning Security Council meeting). Tell me how do you look into the fact that your respective foreign minister, Mr. Draskovic visited South Africa for example? If your government is sure that Russia will use veto, why then visiting SA to convince them to vote against the Mr. Ahtisari’s proposal or at least to abstain. I would suggest you to reconsider your opinion about this. Also to put in question trust to your government that is not telling the truth to the people: it is incomprehensible how Serbian people would still believe their leadership even they know for sure that they lied them several times before, than trust people telling the truth like Mr. Jovanovic is?!!!

To Mike,
I hope that Belgrade government does not explore #2 scenario, sending troops in northern Kosovo: I do not what to see Belgrade being bombed again.
To TDK,
if Albanians remain under Serbian flag, I think that in 30 years the world will see the Serbs singing the Albanian anthem (or maybe the K-Albanian one).

PB

Sidi, you're not called Albanians for nothing .i.e. if you don't like living in Serbia then go to your own country, Albania. if you don't like it there, try going to the USA, see if your great ally will let you in - i don't think so.

It seems increasingly clear that there are three possible endgames for Kosovo, each with advantages and disadvantages to all players:

Scenario 1: The UN passes and sanctions the Ahtisaari Plan. Kosovo becomes independent in the loosest sense of the word and is completely under the aucpices of the EU. The Serb enclaves becomes virtually autonomous from Pristina and the Serb monasteries become better protected than the Kosovar citizens. Pristina gets what it wants, Belgrade sulks, the government essentially resigns, and new elections are called. The US and the UK feel vindicated that the foreign policy agenda they pushed was accepted and Russia somehow acquieced.

Scenario 2: A UN resolution is not passed. Pristina declares independence unilaterally, the Ahtisaari Plan is not passed, Serbs south of the Ibar flee north. The Serbian army, in an attempt to hold onto what it can, sends troops and tanks into northern Kosovo up to the Ibar, effectively making Kosovo a Cyprus. The stalemate ends with a new peace agreement partitioning Kosovo along the Ibar. Belgrade feels partially vindicated for preserving its territory (if only in fraction), and Pristina no longer has to feel burdened with putting up with a multiethnic model of tolerating Serbs who have now largely fled. International law is not recognized, but people get what they want by force anyway.

Scenario 3: Russia and China stall a UN resolution until an amended resolution gives greater assurances to Serbia. Moscow and Beijing now press Belgrade to accept the amended proposal, and a collective joy goes up as "real talks" and "real dialogue" were taken seriously.

The best case scenario for the West is #1. The worst case scenario for almost everbody but the lunatic nationalists in Serbia and Kosovo is #2. Russia and China have already indicated it will not readily accept #1. So in order to avoid #2, the CG may have to opt, albeit reluctantly, for #3 in order to get the entire UNSC onboard to agree to a resolution that will be internationally binding.

We Albanians should "thank" so much to Tadic and especially Koshtunica for working so hard with his partners Russia and China to secure the stability in the region by giving autonomy to Kosova province. They both must be having sleepless nights to come to that solutions. The only problems is that both joke a lot especially their own people. They are trying hard to sell the soap for cheese. Kosova is effectively independent you like it or not and soon will have its own seat in the United Nation will its own army a professional one to secure the stability for the province and help in international conflicts. That is the truth and only the truth.

Sidi,

let me remind you that both Russia & China have double vetoed once already whe the US & Uk try to rush through a ill-perceived plan. In an act to show the US they are no longer dominant they double vetoed just in January;

- I guess what better time then when the US are chairing the UN SC to really show their new found influence - but you keep believing in the 90's US dominance uni-polar global world!!!

Ahtisaari has produced a plan that is decisive for the EU and is not supported by the Serbs at all neither by the Russians or the Chinese;
- US stance on Kosovo is destructive: Russian envoy
"It's a somewhat direct position and, in my opinion, it is destructive. I think that this is some kind of element of psychological attack on the (UN) Security Council," Vitaly Churkin told reporters by video link from New York.

Regarding the US "possible" illegal (incontravention to a UN resolution 1244 they signed) recognition of a unilateral declaration;

Sidi and other ethnic-Albaninans, lets not waste our time and together (Serbian leadership, ethnic-Albanian leadership and all the other representatives too - eg Roma et al) a solution can be created that respects all the peoples of Serbia!!!

Are you kidding me? China is what is keeping the US Dollar ALIVE right now. In 5-10 more years their economy will surpass that of the United States. China & Russia on a joint from and the USA with ALL of their allies won't be able to touch them. The future is looking brighter already. Unipolar world is imminent. Why else do you think the US is rushing to make Kosovo independent? They know that time is against them. Do not worry, for Kosovo will never be independent and will remain in Serbia forever. "According to the statement, Koštunica said that a sustainable solution was attainable, and described it as substantial autonomy for the province. "

There is one minor problem with this proposal: It is NOT ACCEPTABLE to the 95% Albanian population of Kosovo. And since Russia and China say that the agreement has to be acceptable to BOTH sides, then substantial autonomy is out of the question. Hello independence!

Also to anyone who thinks China will risk a confrontation with the United States, you are very very naive in international geo-politics. China is so heavily dependent on the USA in terms of trade and technology, that they will sell out Serbia in a heartbeat once the Americans make that late night phonecall. Russia will too eventually, you will see! But China will be first.
