I have been in Kosovo as a soldier and there is def. anti-Serb propaganda going on in the world. While i was stationed in Kosovo we only had problems with the Albanians not the Serbs. As to the Serbs wanting to whipe out all of the Albanians I beleive that the latest reserch has showed that around 3000 people from both sides died, that does not qualify for genocide. But nice try at the propaganda Albanians. It has worked for you so far but hopefully the public opinion will change of this ignorant world.

If you care only about churches it's all OK, but I have one other question to you: If we will stay within Serbia, how many albanians you will kill or expel from their home?

If you believe in your lie please don't believe that others believe in it.

Thank you good and thank you USA and EU for giving us this day of INDEPENDENCE.

Abraham Lincoln.

USA didn't kill their mexican citizens as serbia did us. Have you been alive in 1999 or maybe you forgot this year? My family lost two people from serbian paramilitary criminals in 15 April 1999.

Fortunately the people who decides our faith are well known with those happenings, so welcome INDEPENDENCE.

I do not understand why some Serbian people (by the contrary I can understand the motivation of Serbian politicians) want to prolong the de facto independence status of Kosovo instead of accepting the formal independence, which will occur before or after, and not far away by now.

Only problem with precedence is that nowhere in the world has a country's army actively tried to wipe out the population of one of its provinces. Thats why Kosovo is not a precedent.

Russia says it will back something that is acceptable to both sides....well I dont know how unification with a country that tried to wipe you out will ever be acceptable to Kosovo expecially since alot of serbs including the ones here give no respect to Kosovo.

what will russia do if both sides still cant agree? unilateral declaration of independence is most likely. If russia recognises Kosovo then great, if not, i cant see why Kosovo would care. Serbia didnt follow international law during the 90's so i dont see how any credibility will be given to serbia when it now tries to quote any international laws.

In a matter of six months, possibly less, cartographers will have to make a small change in the political map of Europe: according to a U.N.-backed proposal unveiled Feb. 2, the formerly Serbian province of Kosovo is about to become an independent state.

I don't know any more man. I just want Serbia to be peaceful and prosperous and for it to be a nation that foreigners marvel and admire. The Serbian people deserve that.

I for one sometimes get a kind of melancholy feeling when I think about the whole situation, almost like Neil Young's "Tell Me Why" song. Because all in the while Serbia, as a nation, has so much potential that it's hard to imagine this nation not being successful, there always pops up some issue hindering Serbia from living up to its potential. So maybe I do not know the entire situation surrounding the Kosovo issue, but if the UN says that Belgrade and Pristina cannot agree, then I think that there need to be more personable talks between the two areas in order for Serbia and Kosovo to remain united. In other words, a Russian veto will not solve this situation because the main problem, in my view, is the tension between Belgrade and Pristina, which shows no signs of subsiding.

Self-determination right is holy. If it wasn't for it we would still have Austria-Hungary existing. Self-determination of the Austria-Hungary-based Vojvodina Serbs is as right as the self-determination of the Kosovo Albanians.
In 1912 the world powers backed Serbia and refused to allow Albania to have Kosovo. They thought Albanians will settle for a small but independent country. Many Albanians were left outside Albania, ethnic lines of the four Albanian vilayets (Kosovo was one of them) didn't coincide with Albanian borders.
Now the world powers are fixing the mistake.

Greetings All,

When will Serbian people realise that Kosova is not theirs. The fact is it never was. It was by mistake given by International community to Serbia in the beggining of the last century. All that will soon change. For gods sakes You people (Serbs) came from from the Karpats to the territories you ocupy and now call Serbia.

P.S. Kako moze Kosova da bude "kolevka" Srpskog naroda. Mozda Karpati su kolevka a ne Kosova.

O.k. afr,
You say the U.S. and E.U. support you...Thats not accurate. Nevertheless, the U.S. and the E.U. are not the only mouthpieces of the world.
this issue will not be decided in Washington or Brussels. It is the U.N. that will decide based upon international justice and norms. there are many members in the U.N. that are concerned about this illegal proposal. As well they should be. Many nations have legitamate concern for thier own territorial integrity. this is a very, very real concern to these U.N. diplomats. They are not interested in setting precedents that will change the map of the world as well as the U.S.A..The United States should be very careful. We have already seen the massive protest here by Mexican Americans. If Kosovo and Metohija recognized as an independent state simply because the majority of inhabitants in that particular provence of Serbia want it. Just think of the implications that will have here in the U.S. and elsewhere.
You will recieve what you need through dialogue and albanians in Serbia's KosMet province will be satisfied as long as they realize, like we forieners in the U.S do, that they must respect the integrity of the state they live in , Serbia.

Can you say all eggs in one basket...?

Man, when will Serbia have leaders that give a rats ass about their people? How about accepting that all this energy diverted into a lost cause would instead be better spent helping to ease a whopping unemployment? How about crushing (or even marginally disrupting) organized crime and drug trafficking?

Serbia needs some new and earth shattering different leaders that can take Serbia out of the hell it is in... and I sincerely hope that is sometime soon.

What ironic is that you say "Its good that all hope is with Russia" ......well well? what about all hope for Albanians are with USA..not EU trust me on this one don't count on them to do anything for your people....

Its OK you don't have to be jealous that Russia has REAL open support for us.....my god has Bush ever even heard of Albanians? hasn't said a word about them.

Hmm, your comments start off well enough; that youd like to give the 'Albanian point of view' but then you just end up giving your opinion
on the West's point of view, the Russians point of view, even the Serbian point of view. But no Albanian point of view. Your comments are quite scattered.

Even your comment that Kosovo will be indepenant is incorrect.

It will either be a Bosnian style checkered quasi-state with an international governor/overseer or the process will be blocked by China and Russia and negotiations will go on for another generation.

Talking from the Albanian point of view, its really nice to see Kostunica go to UN SC to represent Serbia because he doesnt really have a good reputation at all in the west.
Its good that Kostunica also ackowledges the fact that all hopes are with Russia as USA and EU accepted the Ahtisaari Plane which grants independence to Kosova.
The bad thing about putting hopes in Russia is that Russia will leave Serbia 'high and dry' just like it did in 1999 during the NATO bombing. Some out of reality people would say ' well Russia is stronger now under Putin' but the fact is that Putin was the one to order Russian soldiers out of Kosova as Russia had no interest in Kosova.
Remember one thing, Russia can not even take care of its internal problems so forget about her help, its only a cheap talk to get somethig from the west, thats all there is.
Reality will always win, as out of concept of time and out of reality ideas and people will sink down...
Good luck to Kostunica in his loose/loose situation. He is only wasting money of Serb government to pay to go to USA, thats all there is. He will not even get one yard of Kosova land, all of it is INDEPENDENT.
Thanks
