ida-Croatia which is to achieve military supremacy and the rise of strategic State-Aligned in NATO the first half of 2011. With Serbia, negotiating on river Danube, which draws a part of Croatian border is on shelf, for now the groundwork for confrontation and the outbreak of War. Croatia a more powerful military force will have trouble achieving its security through military. Conquering people, borders and land is over. your recent effort in Croatia your army fell apart like a deck of card.. they crushed you. Focus more on economy, lust for power has led to many downfall.

The census of 1991 included a number of Serbs, who had no true connection with Croatia: soldiers, policemen, customs people, spies, various officials etc. When Croatia declared independence, they left for Serbia, at their own free will. The true number of Croatian Serbs is no more than 5%.

"Blatant falsification -self-proclaimed "Krajina" was built in 1991 on the mass slaughter of up to 20,000 Croats and the ethnic cleansing of hundreds of thousands more."

Lies. Where is the proof that 20,000 Croats were killed in Krajina? Where's the list of names of even 1,000 Croats - and lets see if they were soldiers or paramilitary or civilians.

Croats were murdering Serbs in Croatia already in 1991. Croats civilians did leave the area to sit out the war, but they are free to come back, and Croats have come back everywhere except where the economy is too bad due to the Croatian army giving a scortched earth policy to Krajina.

The vast majority of Croats killed were military, paramilitary or police.

Hardly and ethnic Croat women and children were killed, and most of the time it was due to the fact that they were married to or friends with Serbs.

Serbia didn't ethnically cleanse or kill its Croat population. There's no burned Croat homes, no destroyed Catholic churches. Croats weren't even fired from their jobs, which was one of the things Tudjman and the Croatian government did before the war started.

From your comments one can conclude that you have a major problem dealing with a Croatians. Perhaps Serbs subconsciously fear that reviving Croatian history may open a Pandora’s box? As you know, the Serb lobby are still going. They have successfully portrayed self-proclaimed "Krajina" as some kind of historical Serbian province populated entirely by peace-loving, tax-paying Serbs ethnically cleansed by evil Croats in 1995. Blatant falsification -self-proclaimed "Krajina" was built in 1991 on the mass slaughter of up to 20,000 Croats and the ethnic cleansing of hundreds of thousands more. Your lust for power has led to your downfall.

Vukovar was almost 1/2 Serbian or "Yugoslav". Serbs were the ones who called themselves Yugoslavs in Croatia as to Croatia it was a bad word. Croats like to lie about the true population percentage of Serbs in Croatia. But one thing is in the census results: Serbs over 12.2% of the population in 1991, then dropping to 4.5% in 2002. That's ethnic cleansing.

Going back in time you find a greater percentage of Serbs living in what is today Croatia.

It was around 30% back before WWI.

And though you say Slavonia wasn't ever a part of Serbia, well neither was it a part of Croatia before Croatia signed up to become Yugoslavia.

Dalmatia as well wasn't part of Croatia and had been controlled and held by Italians and was called Ragusa.

So Croats got what they wanted from Serbs - extra land - then they started maneuvering to stab them in the back.

It should be noted that Serbian troops right after the end of WWI were in a stand off with the Italians.

I think it is you who is the victim of revisionist history. I can find no basis in fact for what you are saying, maybe this is because I do not have access to HDZ history books.

Croatia's borders are Europe's oldest. This is particularly true for northern and western borders which are old and stable, while the eastern borders are a result of constant contraction and loss of territory that began with the expansion of the Turkish Empire and went on until 1945 when borders between the republics were drawn in Yugoslavia in the aftermath of World War II. This mythology is a recent creation of the Serbian government and has been given wide circulation by Serbian apologists Nora Beloff and David Martin. The purpose of the myth is to stress to the world that the borders of the former Yugoslav republics are simply administrative boundaries with no historical significance. Once this myth is taken as fact the argument follows that such meaningless borders are subject to negotiation and change. With Slovenia, EU-member the greatest victims of hostilities so far were Slovenian fishermen, whose nets were seized by the Croatian coast guard, and tourist guides working illegally. The myth that Serbian lands are held by Croatia was used by the Serbian government to launch a war of aggression to seize valuable gas and oil fields, rail and shipping corridors and port facilities. Eastern Slavonia, where Serbian aggression resulted in the total devastation of the ancient city of Vukovar, had a Serbian population of 16.4% according to the 1991 census. Dubrovnik, which underwent months of siege by Serbian forces had a Serbian population of only 6.2% in 1991. Neither region has ever been a part of Serbia. Republic of Croatia has made no territorial claims against any other nation; Slovenia, Bosnia-Hercegovina and Serbia alone since 1813 has constantly expanded in pursuit of the dream of a Greater Borders and Adriatic Sea! It is a dream that has cost the lives of millions. How many more will die for Croatia Borders and dream of empire remains to be seen.

There are some false statements in the article. Slovenia never threatened with veto on Croatian membership in EU (except for that 1 week in September 2004), but always stresses that they Croatians have to obey common EU standards. Arbitration also hasn't been agreed. Slovenians still hope for an agreement.

Well, we wouldn't want Croatia's shape to block the wheels of progress, would we? At least it's a pretty horseshoe, not like the ugly horseshoe that would have resulted if 200,000 Serbs had been left in peace in their homes in UNPA South, north and West.

If Croatia was allowed into the EU then I guess they won't think twice use same ploy the Slovene's used. Croatia though would not be as amicable as the Slovene's and would definitly block accession on Montenegro, BiH & Serbia if it does not get it's way over all the other contentious border disputes.

Slovenia should use all of its power to stop Croatia from taking more land that isn't theirs.

Let's have peace in the balkans without bigotry and bias, and we all know who suffered on the ends of those two :-(
