How about Serbs showing more flexibility towards NE Serbia "Vlachs"? They aren't even recognized as Romanians and have no rights to use their language in school, church or state-run TV.
Too late for philosophy. A given autonomy can easily be taken away in the future and serbians have a lot of experience in taking away that. Independence is the correct answer.
