...that´s what I am telling all the time, Albanians are counting way to much on the US...but, in their desperation, they aren´t even hearing it, if someone brings up a doubt about that...
as to those things you mentinoned, they can have football-teams or flags as much as they want, as long they do not have any seperatist-meaning. but what most of the boys here do not think about is...you can´t eat flags or football-teams...

in anyway, we will see, time will tell.

Like said in another post everyone tends to forget about 1244 and put there heads in the sand everyone agreed even the albanians who signed off on this. Well we all see how much a UN resolution means jack squat that is what it means. So please keep your resolutions and the albanians say they rather have war then it is there choice. Why sign a document and 9 years later change the whole thing just to appease a certain group.

Considering the importance of the institute I am wondering if this is the slow unveiling of the official US position. Remember, Bush has so far been rather silent on the issue and Rice has recently suggested that talks may consume more time than touted by other parties. While Kosovans believe that with or without a Russian veto they will gain independence, I doubt that it will be that easy. I believe the case that Kosovo is an "exceptional case" will have to be dropped and Kosovo may only hope to become an EU protectorate. Kosovo may get its football team and flag but not an UN seat, in the medium term and the question about the final status will be opened for fresh debate. Sould Kosovans lose patience, internal power struggles could lead to chaos, Kosovos's case may be dropped for quite a considerable time. Declaring independence unilaterally without US support may also not work.
Though Kosovans do not consider such an outcome, what kind of responses may be possible if the above scenario may happen. (It has often been said that Serbia is counting too much on Russia. May the Kosovans not rely too much on the US?)

I said it in 1999 and I will say it again: The only thing that will undo UNSC 1244 is UNSC 2488. That is how far we are from an equitable solution to Kosovo. Count the years.

this article comes a little belated, since I have already read it somewhere else...

has anybody doubted that UNSCR 1244 is not of importance? I mean, except the Albanians?

don´t be that naive!

Interesting logic ever and ever presented by serbians supporters ever pretending be impartial and only possible way of viewing the political question of the dismembering of the ghost state of yugoslavia. If they have political force for that till now all other peoples would be repressed by the idea thar was not possible violate yugoslavia integrity. the statements of this biased text put the serbs like the only real people and heir of yugoslavia being deprived of their lands by roam peoples, this is not the historical truth, this is the ideologic vision of the supporters of the great serbia. Believe that only serbs have rights and put serbia at the center of the universe is a very "nationalistic" way of viewing but want that the entire world would be subjected at this imposition by childish mind tricks is risible.
