To my fellow Serbians, why continue to boast about the historical ties to Russia! How many immigrant Serbs live in Russia, compared to those living in the US and Western European countries? Last I heard, Serbia was hoping for visa relaxations for the West, not for Russia! Also, most of the Serbs I see in this forum all live in these Western countries, and can articulate themselve in English, I'd like to see some of you do that in Russian! I say all this to shed light on one thing: Relying on Russia to save Serbia's "territorial integrity" is the wrong strategy for your country. At this point, bargaining is your best tool!!! Try to get as many concessions from the West as you can for your agreement with the terms, because keeping Kosovo under Serbian rule at all cost is not a viabe option for you. Aside from common ancestry and religion, Serbia and Russia have very little in common, in my opinion. If I were a betting man, I'd wager that if give a chance any Serb would rather live in the West than in Russia (all things being equal). So, why not just play the hand that you are dealt, and try to make the best of it? The powers that be want to see Kosovo independent, and neither Serbia nor Russia can do anything about it! REmember, it used to be that neither Russia nor China supported independence, well now China is fine with it, and only Russia is kicking up dust, but to no avail.

Anyways, best of luck to everyone out there, and sooner or later we will all move on from this situation and focus on what's really important: Global warming and Greenhouse gases.

The Sarajevo Economic Institute estimated the breakdown of Bosnia war dead as 140800 Muslims 28400 Croats 97300 Serbs 12300 Yugoslavs.

All sides suffered so yes it was a big deal.

As for 1 million deported from Kosovo. You believe that. I believe they fled NATO bombing. Not only that I believe this article http://emperors-clothes.com/interviews/keys.htm which says they were ordered to flee by their clan leaders under threats of the KLA as a propoganda tool.

This won't set any precedent.
East Timor was a precedent. If Russia vetoes what does Serbia offer in return? Its soil for Russian bases or anti missile shields, preferential treatment for Russian investments, to become the second Belarus, everlasting gratefulness?

Didn't the UN pass Resolution 1244 to end the conflict in Kosovo? What happen to the Resolution or is the UN just ignoring what they agreed to. It did not say nothing about partition Serbia? I guess that resolution is now in the number 7 file. All other resolutions ie war in iraq, afganistan and other resolutions are respected but when it comes to the balkans everything is fluid i guess.

I love how serbs are screaming illegal, illegal.
Yet when they deported over 1 million people from kosova that was perfectly legall.
Over 250,000 killed in bosnia- somewhat legal-no big deal.

This is the hipocracy that has embedded the serb nation. It is hipocracy, wrapped in paranoia which is sheltered by propaganda.

Time to impose a solution? Are you God? Who decides when an imposition must be declared? You can't find Kosovo on a map and now you will tell us how to deal with it? Wow.

The talks between Kosovo/a team and Serbian team have been going on since last year to no avail. There come s a time to impose solution on both parties and this will happen, there is no other way out. I can se that a lot of people are still a sleep, time to wake up and smell the coffee.

1-Only Juges and Goverments sections are imposing solutions.
2-Juges and G.V are imposing solutions in accordance to the law.
3-law must be respected.

So an imposed solution will only be imposed to Albanians if we follow the law. Any other imposition is ILLEGAL.

As per the FT, this is what Russia wants from Kosovo:

If the US continues to act unilaterally, without giving answers, this could push us towards a crisis. Such a crisis could occur if we stop communicating and start to act unilaterally. So, for example, Russia could acknowledgethe independence of some "frozen" territories such as South Ossetia or Abkhazia if the US acknowledges the independence of Kosovo without a Security Council decision.

History has nothing to do with importance
