In the Balkans, celebrations are routinely coupled with gunfire. Yes, it may be the same in the Middle East, but let's not pretend that's some Islamic cultural influence, as it is common in a number of third world nations, most with no Islamic influence (it's common in poorer South American countries). This is another pathetic attempt to show the Albanians in a negative light, whereas were the roles reversed (and they have been, 1878, 1913, 1945, etc), the dominant Serbian population has resisted a fraction of the demonstrated tolerance, which hardly seems deserved considering the massacre of ten thousand Albanians only years ago.

Hey 't' Krasniqi was born in Kosovo.

Hope that answers your question, but if anyone was truly unbiased, they would have researched that in the first place.

Albanians celebrated Krasniqi's victory - TRUE.
Albanians celebrated Krasniqi's victory while shooting guns - NOT TRUE.

REMEMBER this is ALL according to the SERB NATIONAL COUNCIL.

Firstly,
This is not Nobody's Land. Luan Krasniqi is from Kosovo (Junik, Deçan) and we Albanians have the right to celebrate his victories in every corner of our country, in North Mitrovica it self, and doing that should not disturb you Serbs at all.
Secondly, I am glad in the second part of the day B92 "improved" itself by asking what really happend, and the answer was very easy. The very respected B92 (at least by us Albanians) please Triple-check everything that comes from the so-called Serbian National Council.
Thirdly, neighboors don't envy us for having a box champion, who now plays for Germany, because of you represion in the past.
Be well!

This is the privilege we have when Serbs are not ruling here anymore, like it or not reality, we are ruling, WAKE UP. As per you fears come and see it yourself, and then you can come to a conclusion are the Serbs really under the threat or are the manipulative tools of Belgrade.

Cheers!!!

Who cares who won what sports event. In a civilized society when huligans and misfits fire weapons they are arrested. Isn't that what the west does when they have soccer matches? Who can justify rampaging armed men firing weapons. Where are the police? What charges will be filed. Criminal behavior is criminal behavior does it really matter why? No country with the exception of a banana republic, accepts such actions.

t, you are completely wrong, Kosovo Albanians do not have any other homeland than Kosovo and Kosovo has been and will continue to be their homeland. Your comment is racist.

They are Albanians but Albania is not their homeland. They are born in Kosovo, their father, their grandfathers, ancestors were born there.

Imagine what people like you would do with Albanians in Kosovo if they were able to control Kosovo again. That is why Kosovo Albanians want independence.

If Serbia won an athletic competition on Sept. 11, I am not going to go through New York City firing a gun off. It's called dignity and respect for people. Furthermore, what kind of people fire off guns when a boxer wins a little match in Germany? I mean I could see if the World Cup was won, but some lightweight boxing?

I was a young man when Mohammed Ali - Cassius Clay, wont he world boxing title, and I don't remember anyone driving through Louisville Kentucky shooting automatic weapons. Is that the way Albanians celebrate personal victories? I have only seen this type of behavior in some radical islamic countries. And in their own backyard. As for KFOR, UNMIK, etc., what a joke. God help the Serbs if they must depend on them for any kind of protection.

Right Afrim, but perhaps you should celebrate that in Albania, you could do there whatever you want and not on someone else’s ground covered with blood of many people! Of course that it will touch wounds of many still weeping for their loved one who died on that very same ground Albanians are now celebrating whatever on. Imagine Serbs going to Croatia celebrating their winnings in sports. You think they would survive? Of course this was a part of propaganda, it is putting salt on a wound. You think it is easy for a Serb to stand and look how some stranger is walking his land celebrating their boxer? While that very same Serb lost a son or a daughter.

Invented story? Are also a number of dead Serbs in Kosovo an invented story? Talk about Serbian and their genocide and their ethnic cleansing, so what has happened to Serbian in Kosovo? That was not ethnic cleansing? Or better yet, it is clear that Serb need to be ethnically cleansed from Balkan, period, right? Look at Krajina, Croatia, and Bosnia, where Serbs where in great percent and now there is only few left. Now, is that ethnic cleansing or not? When is Christian population going to wake up, or just simply laws for Serbs are different from those for Albanians, Croatians, and Bosnian Muslims? Now, if we go way back in history, even Albania was not Albanian's. So what is going to happen now is that Kosovo is going to be independent but not so that Albanians can enjoy, but so that bigger powers can. And then with this independence, they will take and part of Serbia, so then you'll have great "Beogradski Pasaluk" again. Why does not US start giving parts of their states to Latin American, they have right to it as well.
Is it not a good proof that Kosovo is Serbian land just when you look at all the monasteries and churches, hundreds of them, that are older than we all can imagine? Just recall the Battle of Kosovo, when Serbs proudly stood against Turkish Empire, and when the whole Europe stood frozen waiting to be free, celebrating Serbian victory even though they were defeated.
If independence is resolution for Kosovo, then it should be resolution to Republic of Serbia and many other countries throughout Europe as well. Then I should be able to go back to Krajina to my home that is standing there as in a horror movie. What about Serbian children?

I can not believe that even B92 is falling a victim of dirty propaganda made by some people. Yesterday's celebrations were not for the march 2004 incidents but for THE VICTORY OF THE ALBANIAN LUAN KRASNIQI IN BOXING YESTERDAY IN GERMANY. B92 is just putting fuel on some people like PRINCIP and lowe who will do and use anything possible as propaganda against the Albanians.
SHAME ON whoever is trying to use this as a propaganda against the Albanians. Dont we have the right to celebrate the victory of our champion in Boxing?
I forgot that according to some serbs we should not celebrate anything.
Since the moderator published all the hate writings of some other commentators here, I hope that they will publish this too because after all I am not based on lies and I am not promoting propaganda but just telling the truth that the celebrations were for THE BOXING VICTORY.
Thanks.

Hopefully a time is coming when citizens can get on with their lives and terrorists dealt with.

The car drivers are trying to provoke violence, nothing new. The only way we can get these provocaters back and their taunts unfulfilled is if we stop Greater Albania in Kosovo, Presovo, Montenegro, and FYROM. Then the people win and the war-mongers handed a beating.

This is so funny! Last night, at around 23:00 groups of young people went out in the streets of Prishtina and all other cities in Kosovo to celebrate the victory of Luan Krasniqi (German boxer of Kosovo origin) who won against Brian Minto and is now eligible to challenge the champion of BWO. This is really funny! As a prestigious news agency, please double check the reports coming from Kosovo :) Cheers!

It looks to me like a 'well-painted' story. I do not see any reason why this story should be true. The Serbs have their Bridge Watchers and paramilitary formations in the North; if this were true, they were either not doing their job (e.g. sleeping) or this is seriously an utterly invented story.

I do accept the possibility of it being true, but given Serbian mastery of propaganda, I would rather wait to hear it from a third, independent source e.g. an UNMIK statement.

Till then, this is just an invented story to me.

Notice that this is in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica. Another proof that Albanians ARE in the northern part - at least in this particular section of it.

Several weeks ago when a Serbian woman was stabbed near this particular section and the culprit ran back to this neighborhood, Albanians here were saying there were no Albanians in northern Mitrovica. I put up some non-Serb articles mentioning Albanians being there after the war in reports. Now we have a B92 report of them in 30 cars.

So this should be further proof that Albanians are in northern Mitrovica and are up to evil, mischief and provocations.

Lowe,

it is almost ironic in some ways that it illuminates the tolerance of Serbs that 30 car loads of radicalised ethnic-Albanians with guns can express their far-right nationalism (rightfully or wrongfully) but are not immediatly set upon by a mob of Serbs. I can imagine the result of 30 cars of Serbs (even without flags and guns) driving through Pristina, Pec or any other large town south of Mitrovica would have not been shown the same tolerence by ethnic-Albanians.

I think this just adds to the contradiction of partitioning Serbia for multi-ethnic tolerance and shows who is the more tolerant group and that the Serbs know that violence will not solve things - that is the job of KFOR - who say they are well prepared! I guess this will be utilised in putting the case forward in the UN tomorrow.
