The Serbian delegation will ensure that all at the UN are only too aware of Serbia's stance - more talks are required under another impartial mediator who's role is to ensure real "negotiations" rather then the imposition of predetermined illegal one-sided proposals. Bye bye Ahtisaari you job is done and sadly it is not upto International legalities so move on and give someone else a go.

Like the Russians have said they can't be more Serbian then the Serbs so lets make sure that Serbia's message is loud and clear - ensuring that Russia need not worry about veto's since it will not even be proposed at the UNSC.

imagine in what situation western diplomacy would find itself accepting what russia is proposing. am emphasizing PROPOSING. it would mean that they compromise their dignity and face in eyes of world diplomacy. moreover it would mean that all work accomplished by mr. ahtisaari in negotiation process so far go in vain.
why, because mr. kostunica and co. have lost their concept of space and time.
because, they don’t know how to behave within a completely different political and diplomatical international environment. an environment that does not match with national-chauvinistic philosophy, a philosophy they have been educated and poisoned for centuries. logically, within such new environment they have lost all arguments. this is why they operate with slogans and stereotypes used from cubrilovic era. that time has gone once and forever.

Currently, K&M is in a state of anarchy that the west finds unmanagable and is willing to rid of it ASAP. Risking another potential war where the innocent will suffer. I hope this isn't the case and that there will be a replacement envoy in continued talks. The west knows who's at fault for this mess. Mr. Holebrooke made that perfectly clear and he and his associates should answere for that, if we truely have international law & justice.

Realistically, the Serbian province should be left under an international protectorate within its UN recognized borders under UN res 1244, with greater emphasis given to the well being of the citizens in that province, less the political maneuvering that benifits no one there. This would, perhaps weed out the negative elements in the Albanian community, which would eventually lead to a path for high autonomy within Serbia, as Serbian citizens. It's evident that the Serbian Albanians in K&M do not have a functioning democracy, though under the guideance of the UN (which is weak at best). Something more needs to be done in order to help the honest hard working population in K&M. Serbia is K&M's past, present and future. Let's look at the US, Canada, England as examples of people of different origins living side by side in one country as one people. Serbia should be given the chance to become Europe's America.

Why is it that international rules are only taken seriously by the US,England and other Western nations when it suits them! Respect international borders and back them and you might find some of these little terrorist organisations such as the KLA would simply disappear. But give them a sniff of opportunity and then they'll have the nerve to call themselves political negotiators!!
How can the world trust what the Americans think anyway as they're views on politics changes to suit themselves. One minute its lets get the terrorists then its lets support them. The former yuogoslavia was a wonderful place to visit that embraced all ethnicities, now that its been bashed, raped and pilliged by pollitical views of the uninformed we find ourselves taking the easy way out of it all by blaming one side for it all. Beware Macedonia it all looks pretty bleak for your internationally recognised borders as well.
