RE: IMF

I agree with Luciano, as with most Southeastern European countries, corruption is still rampant which inhibits economic growth. Bozidar Delich has done a good job with stabilizing the currency , revamping the banking system and curbing inflation. However, the economic system and government intervention must be addressed.

The IMF is politically motivated, but it is the only vehicle to promote economic stability in Europe.

Everybody knows that the IMF serves the interest of its highest donator (The USA). A good book about US foreign economic policy, though slightly leftist, is "Confessions of an Economic Hitman".

The economists at the IMF are some of the best in the world.take their suggestions to heart and do not let politics interfere with economic development.Economic technocrats should be in charge of Serbia's economy and not political hacks!!!!

Goodbye IMF. We arn't going to be wanting your contractionary economic policy advise. We do not want your advise or the advise of the World Bank which has really harmed the developing world and helped break up yugoslavia by harming us in 1989 with economic reforms which helped fuel secession movements.

the imf was payed-out today!

now the economy will be designed on serbian interests and not on american ones.

and serbian companies will be sold to the best (or russian) bidder, and not to western companies.

the imf isn´t moneygiver anymore, so it has also nothning more to "recomend".

farewell, good bye and thank you!

The recommendations of the IMF seem to be an accurate assessment at first glance. The Government should have a team of economists from the Federal Treasury Department study these recommendations closely.

The Government should as soon as practicable convene an Economic Summit Conference. There would be Representatives from the Government, Business Investors both local and foriegn at the Summit. Obviously, the purpose of the Summit would be to examine how best to improve the economy, how to have low inflation and interest rates, and especially how to create jobs.
