If what is being said here is really true, and I do have my suspicions, then the new owner of NIS will be very happy to wait if and when NIS is sold. If the sale price is not fair then the Government will just have to keep it for a while, and may even have to settle for a lower price.

I think the real message behind this story is that some people are trying to interfere in the electoral processes of another country. Serbia will have a new democratic Government soon enough, and unwarranted comments from foreigners do not help in this regard.

The EU wanted Serbia to form a Government even before the official election results were announced. For the benefit of the EU, Serbia should wait until the last minute to announce a new Government, or to announce a fresh election because the world needs to know that the EU does not interfere in the electoral proceesses of another country according to the Helsinki Final Act 1975. In the USA, they wait months before the next Government begins to rule, and no one thinks anything of it.

What would be worse than waiting until the last minute to announce a new Government, would be the need for a fresh election. In my opinion it is better to give this Parliament every opportunity to form a Government rather than having a fresh election, even though this means having to wait patiently for a negotiated coalition.

If the statements concerning NIS really are true, then that is just an regrettable consequence of having a democratic Constitution which is a comparatively small price to pay. We all need to remember that Serbia is a new democracy, and as such we all understand that Serbia at times will act a little slower than the more advanced democracies.

Therefore, there is no reason for concern as the Caretaker Government will rule Serbia until the new Government recieves it's mandate. Serbia is a capitalist free market economy, people are working and paying their taxes, and they will wait patiently for the next Government.
