May i add something to the fray. Was it the Serb Secret police who clashed with police in Pristina a few weeks ago? The same old blame the Serb police or propoganda for something. Two people died for what nothing!!!! They were duped by some hot head who wants to be famous. I thought people were smart enough to listen to the news instead of some dumbass who wants an independent kosovo by any means necessary. Maybe one day everyone will wake up and smell the coffee this is not 1990 and you cannot do as you please ie demostration which turn violent and KFOR and UNMIK police turn and run. No longer will the rule of law be disrespected. I will be back in Kosovo for business and i hope nothing but the best for all.

"There were no Albanians in the police!"

Yes there were and they were targeted by the KLA - also their families. Many had to leave Kosovo after NATO and the KLA took full charge. Some live in Montenegro others in Serbia.

Some nut said why would the Albanians attack the UN or the Western babysitters? Well, they sure did it a while back in Pristina with red paint and just last week or so ago, with sticks and stones

This American hates violent protests, period. When we marched in Birmingham, Alabama with Rev. King... the only violent folks were the racist losers!!

Sue

Kate, I totaly agree with you, surely all this violence starting back up (which never really went away) should show the International community and the rest of Europe that it will be a very long time before Kosovo is "intitled" to independance, independance has to be earned, and I know from being there for 6 years there is still alot of learining to be done before they can manage on their own, they just are not ready, stop blaming one side or the other and look at yourself, there lies the answer.

Hey John, most Serbs in Kosovo were part of the police and the paramilitaries. There were no Albanians in the police! After the war, why do you think most of them left? Legal prosecution? A large percentage of Albanians killed were killed by local Serbs who were part of the police and who knew them. Imagine all the looting, the rapes, the killing of children and the elderly, all the people missing!
Shame on you for putting more value on a Church that participated in such destruction and loss of human life. When Serbia planned it's ethnic cleansing campaign, it should have thought about how Albanians would take it. Believe me, anybody would be pissed off if you try to kill them or wipe off their entire family.

Open your eyes MAN.

It's kind of odd that Albanians who are getting an independent state are throwing hand granades onto interntional vehicles. I don't think its productive to blame Albanians or Serbs.

Lets blame Criminals who would do anything to stop the independence of Kosovo.

Another thing,

I have noticed that every time there is a bomb detonation in Kosovo Serb commentators rush quikly by saying "there are no Serbs left to throw bombs." And then, when there is a topic of Kosovo independence, Serbs scream, "you can't disregard 200,000 Serbs."

Make up your mind guys! There are either enough Serbs for Serbia to protect or there aren't! Which one it is?

It’s so sad to see people wasting time and space accusing each other for doing terrorist attacks. I rather see smart constructive statement about Kosovo future. While tuff guys playing around with explosive ( not just Albanians and Serbs), let see why Kosovo should be part of Albania? Let see what will be consequences of such act, not just for Balkan region? What Kosovo Albanians will do with Kosovo?

Bill

I really hope that, (despite some posted comments here) people are not taking pleasure in this terrible situation. Any normal and civilized individual wouldn’t! Thankfully, no one was hurt.
Destabilization of the situation in Kosova affects everybody.
While it is not known who may have done this, horrible action such as this one is a crime perpetrated by those certainly not in favor of stability.
We should all hope that, despite these thugs who want no order in the region, the international community takes comfort in knowing that the majority of people in Kosova await the finalization of Kosova status in peace.

Hey Hermy - that is what is so farcical about the the A-plan. There aren't any Serbs left to protect. You made sure that they left, and all the others that are not in North Mitrovica are on reservations. The Americans know all to well how to set up reservations for the peoples that have their land illegally taken from them. Just set up a few casino's and have your Albanian kin come and spend their drug and white slavery money to help finance the reservation and pay to keep the churches clean, and the fire department on payroll for the next time you decide to burn them down.

Why call them something that they arent? People setting off bombs are not criminals, they are terrorists. Besides, if you happened to be close to those cars, wouldnt you like to know who did it?

I am an international here working, and I wonder why it always has to be the Albanian, Serbian blame, why cant it be the other people, we will name them the Criminals....that way we (all in Kosova) can work together and keep innocent people from being hurt and property that was deligated for the hope of Kosova from being destroyed?? Why Not ? If these actions continue then nothing will be finished quickly. Reguardless of what you want for the future of KOSOVO....

How you are so sure about the albanian terrorism. Noone said anything about albanians or serbs. I believe serbs have more reasons to hate the rest of the world.

John

For those of you that believe that it was the Serbs that did this - you have to be crazy to think that the UN/OSCE or anyone who isn't Albanian believes you. There aren't any Serbs left in Metohija, you got rid of them and now try to blame them.

"These actions are of course of Serbian secret services."

Hahahahaha, oh man Afrim you crack me up. Better yet, why stop at Serbian secret service? This was done in Pec, right? Probably the Patriarch was visiting the old Patriarchate and decided to stir things up. Better yet, it was probably carried out by the Serbian nuns there. Dude man, you're priceless.

Kate

I wonder if an elderly Serbian farmer can be found in the vicinity to blame.
Seriously, this is a terrible situation when Europe is being held hostage like this. Kosovo is by no means ready for independence, even if it was a legal option.
Maybe Martti's should rethink including 'that word' in his proposal.

These actions are of course of Serbian secret services. The international community knows about it and thats why its not really reacting against it. THe international community is in our side so therefore we have no reason to hit them. But,the serbs are trying to hit and blame... hit the international community and blame the albanians.
These dirty tricks do not work anymore because now the west knows how serbs like to play these dirty tricks.
Whatever serbs tried to do in these last few years turned back as a punishment into their own intersts because the serbs are forgetting that now its not the 18th century to lie to the west, but its the modernized 21 century where the truth is being seen and heard.
Good luck to serbs in trying to do all these tricks but they will not work at all.
THanks.
