Rejecting the EU is one thing, but leaving the United Nations is absurd. Even North Korea and Iran are in the United Nations. Under no circumstances should Serbia leave the United Nations.

Leaving the UN is simply laughable. Invading Kosovo would be a disaster and anyone openly advocating that ought to be tried for High Treason, if we’re pissed about the destruction of our historical sites now, that for sure would end in all of them burning to the ground. Even mentioning that possibility in public can ONLY serve to hurt our cause.

EU, blech, who wants second class status? Better to let them work out their issues first, and join when the time is right. We should follow the Russian model and focus on visa relaxation for now. Joining might turn out to be far easier then leaving if things do not work out.

Why should Seriba not defend their centuries old territory with force if neccasary. Any other country would! Why should they just accept a land grap without doing anything?

The rest of the politicians would sell you in a heartbeat just so they can appease the west. Value your own life and culture and stop letting others impose their will on you. If the UN Security Counsel adopts Ahtisaari's proposal and attempts to violate Serbia's territorial integrity, which is guaranteed under the UN Charter, then Serbia has no benefit from UN membership.

Nikolic is right. If the UN wants to dismember Serbia, then Serbia should quit the UN.

Quitting the UN does have some principle behind it. If they strip our territory away and keep attacking states (Yugoslavia, Serbia) then it is disfunctional and not working the way it should if Serbia, the main party, has no say.

The UN doesn't quite operate the way it should, and its run too much by the world police: USA, who funds it the most and uses it (or bypasses its own laws) for its misguided and sad foreign policies.

USA must give up its superpower status for the world to progress together (not bossed around by anyone) and we need a better United Nations, a United Nations that works hard with Serbian and Albanians, not one that works with moneygrubbers and world powers to change borders at will and break their own laws.

Yeah, its dumb to quit it, but their logic aint to far fetched. Cause what point is there to be in the UN, if all you get is disregarded votes, resolutions not honoured and imposed resolutions...

The League of Nations created by the US President Woodrow Wilson was completely ignored by Hitler in the mid 1930's. Nazi Germany broke international law illegally invading the Sudetenland in Czhechslovakia, marching through the streets of Vienna, Austria and then launching the invasion of Poland.

The United Nations is a dead institution, has not been updated since 1945. Until it is organized to reflect the political reality of today, it is nothing more than than a puppet show.

Russia and China are members of the UNSC and Kosovo can not get a full UN seat without their approval. Do you also advocate breaking off relations with them? Get real. So the UN isn’t perfect and can’t always enforce its resolutions like 242 or 1244, but it’s the best we got right now. What’s the alternative? Let’s work on reforming it and making it better and curbing the powers of the rogue nations like the US.

It is easier for Serbia to fight for her cause within the UN than outside it.

But Serbia shouldn't beg to be in the EU or Nato. You need sound economic policies for your future prosperity, not by being a 2nd class citizen of the EU or have your military becoming a lackey of the US in Nato.

I am very sad to see people that think like this!! After killing pragnant women, childeren, civilians and eldery people it's a unhuman to even think about coming in to power in Kosovo again!

You can clearly see from the posts on the constant demonisation of the Serbs.

As a matter of fact, my step brother in NIS was hit with a cluster bomb by illegal cluster bombs by NATO. The target was not even near the market place t was not an "unintentional target" The use of cluster bombs contravenes provisions in the Geneva Convention.

Over 1000 Serbian civilians which includes Kosovo Albanians were killed by NATO bombs in 78 days of bombing.

Serbia should do whatever it can to ensure that Final final status is not declared anytime soon. At some point K-albanians will become impatient (again) and clearly demonstrate they are nowhere near in a position to govern all of presently defined KiM. Sooner or later, once it's clear that partition with guarantees of minority protection is win-win, Kosovo will be partitioned and both sides will be free to call the lands they control whatever they want.
