Wooooowwwwww 25 serbian officials travelling to Vienna!!! Thats waste of money guys (I fell sorry for serbian tax payers). I will suggest the euros that they will waste on their "Kosovo Good bye trip" they could spend for poor serbian famillies in Serbia. End of the end on 20-30 years time we all hopefully will be part of EU!!!

Jeton,

You are correct in stating that Resolution 1244 refers to the integrity of Yugoslavia. What you fail to recognise is that when Yugoslavia changed its name to Serbia and Montenegro, all documents referring to Yugoslavia from then on referred to Serbia and Montenegro as the legal successor to Yugoslavia.

On top of this, when Serbia and Montenegro became independent of each other, Serbia took over all rights and responsibilities of the Serbia and Montenegro union, and hence, Yugoslavia. Therefore, Resolution 1244 is still valid as it now refers to Serbia.

Mike, show the world that what they believe based on facts is not true - only the Serbian propaganda machinery is the truth.

The days of the United States making and changing laws as they please are done! They created resolution 1244 never implemented it and now are giving Kosovo independence? They had that planned from the get go just so Milosevic would end the war but in reality knew they would never implement it. Why doesn't the international community focus on how bad the Algerians of France are living? They can't even wear their own head scarfs, yet Kosovo Albanians had it all in the 80's but terroized the Serbian community hence why Milosevic stripped the autonomy. This was never about Serbs and Albanians only about oil, transit routes, and Russia. All the rest was used to feed the American viewers in believing there was a needed humanitarian intervention needed. All created by the U.S. Germany and CIA. Every empire rises and falls the United States will be no different. You can already see their decline while you see the markets of the East flourishing. Russia's not too far behind....stay tuned the tides are changing and all stolen Serb land will return within 50yrs.

Princip man, you either read too much poetry from authors who were hopeless romantics, or Russian suicidal novelists. The grounds on which Albanians and Serbs stand are on the opposite extremes of the spectrum. Albanians want independence as the only solution, while Serbs are only prepared to give an ambiguous "broad autonomy". You must be either in denial or I will have to start questioning your reading and comprehension abilities.
Any "negotiations" that you speak of, have already taken place (been reading anything about Vienna talks for the past year or so at all?). No "win-win" solution (as you seem to feed off of it endlessly these days) has been found - hence an imposed solution, which translates that someone, will have to become the loser.

As you may or may not be aware, resolution 1244 speaks of Yugoslav integrity over Kosova/o. Last time I checked, the Montenegrins separated from Serbia thus dissolving the so-called Yugoslav federation. So a Yugoslav country does not exist to infringe on its territorial integrity – I suggest you read resolution 1244; it will become apparent what I am getting at in an instant.
Also, his last name is Ahtisaari, not A-thisarri (if you were referring as plan A) or Athisarri – at least get that one right - since his name has been all over the news (and you’ve been reading it, right?), I am sure you can spell his last name correctly by now.

Alex – I am not going to waste my time responding to that – way to contribute to the discussion.

It is clear that the Serbs want the opportunity of real dialogue and for an opportunity to obtain a real and lasting solution.

Plan A-thisarri as it stands is would be "futile & counterproductive" to be presented to the UN Security Council. If Athisarri denies this opportunity it will not be the last.

Serbia's leadership will be preparing the groundwork for a real and lasting solution based upon International law and European values and practices. The obligation of 1244 will not be negated as Wisner said recently & it will have to be present in the Final draft if it is to stand any change of obtaining 9 affirmatives and no veto's.

But meanwhile, terrorists in Kosovo "negotiatite" in their way:

Monday February 19, 2007 10:46 - PM PRISTINA, Serbia (AP)
An explosion damaged three U.N. vehicles in Kosovo's capital Monday, causing no injuries but raising tensions amid ongoing negotiations on the disputed province's future.

Albanian terrorists also detonated two explosions in Pristina on February 16th, but media didn't report anything. Their target are, obviously, UN troops.
