RE: Final Word on Milosevic

Many people here don't have the guts to tell the truth , instead the incessant propoganda levied against one leader when in reality the fall of Yugoslavia is much more complicated. Among them leaders of Croatian, Bosnian, Serbian, and Albanian descent.

Slobodan Milosevic spent close to three years in the Hague Tribunal and the transcripts are available to all to be downloaded. They provide the most accurate picture of the civil war in Yugoslavia.

Slobodan Milosevic was not convicted of any crime , domestically or internationally even in absentia.

The rest of the Milosevic govenment is currently on trial including Nikola Sainovic, General Ojdanic among others. I urge all readers in this forum to read the accounts and then pass judgement.

Who are the international communtity, i.e EU and US. The rest of the world doesnt have a problem with Kostunica, Putin has a very good relationship with him. Its just the western imperial powers like interfering in the internal affairs of a soverieign country. It is well known that Kostunica considers Serbias interest and fights for it, not just refusing to let Kosovo go he also wants the EU to treat serbia as an equal partner in negotiations, and that the EU doesnt like. The funny thing is, that the DS can have the interior ministry and intelligence services, but they step out of line and kostunica can bring down the goverment as he holds the sway of power in parliment, what would stop him allowing the radicals to run the country but he just votes with them or both form a joint goverment. Isnt democracy great. Would it be in the wests interests to push kostunica away, at this moment in time i dont think so. They should be content that tadic has some form of involvment in the goverment. Kostunica holds the key, whether the west like it or not that is reality and the DS want have the chance to do everything that they want and nor can the DSS. In addition to kostunica standing up for serbias interests the west dont like the fact that he has a good relationship with Putin, thats one thing they are afraid of.

I had said it before that Kostunica will become the PM and it is only fair that he will have to make a certain compromise - that is what happens in democratic coalition governments. I guess that there is still much detail to wrangle out but it looks like the old government will be renewed with a united front against the threat of partitioning Serbia but a realisation that we are all responsible and should account for our actions.

"The DS got the support of the international community which insists that the minister of the interior and the heads of the civilian and military intelligence services come from a party other than the DSS"

Since when is Serbia listening or doing what international community wants?
