Serbs troops should remain on home soil for the next war if kosovo gets independance and rep. srpska does not. Why join an institution that always goes against your interests all the time. Forget Nato and EU, lets join Russia, China and India.

serbia should only join NATO to get favorable concessions on the kosovo issue. there is no other reason to join.

in fact serbia has more power if everyone around it is in NATO... but not serbia. our geography indicates we should not go with any one side on anything. we should always be diff.

Joining nato would be terrible. One reason why is because we would have to spend too much money to upgrade certain military to meet their modern criteria.

And as was said here, integration towards the east, not the west, is the way to go.

artan - the KLA also has no mercy. Even after 'liberation' there have been terrible things done against innocent people including Serbians, Albanians and Roma. The people traffickers, arms dealers and drug runners ply their trade through Kosovo and woe betide anyone who gets in their way.

Being in ANY club helps your voice to be heard. Being outside the club your voice is but a cry in the forest and gets about as much attention as a falling tree.

serbia first needs to fully cooperate in bringing to justice all of it's war criminals and deporting to Kosova those reponsible for the murder of over 10,000 Kosovars.War reperations must also be addressed.

Jovan you must be hypocrit, how can you say they evacuated Albanians during NATO bombing. In reality the HORSE SHOE Operation was taking place to clanse Albanians from Kosova.

Yugoslavia always did well as a not aligned country hey?

As far as I was aware there was a contest for influence between two superpowers at that time and they both gave Tito a fair bit of cash for his affections. thats what kept Yug going not communist economic or international prowess. That time is over now and its better to be in the tent pissing out than outside pissing in.

having said that I don't think it will happen any time soon.
