Parliament to convene Wednesday

The Caretaker Governmemt will continue to direct Parliamentary buisness until a new Governmemt is in place.

We will have to wait and see if this Parliament will give us a Government, and if not then there will be a fresh election. The possibility of a minority Government could be considered as this sometimes occurs even in old democracies.

I believe that this Parliament should be given every opportunity to give Serbia a majority Government, because unless the opinion polls show otherwise, there could be a similiar result, and we would be have a similar situation. The opinion polls could improve with time for some Parties to give a coalition of likeminded Parties the majority they need for Government.

The possibility of a minority Government could be considered if a majority Governmemt can not be negotiated.

A minority Government is one where a minority of MP's make up the Government and a majority of MP's support it to the extent that they will not vote a no confidence vote against the minority Government or obstuct taxation, the Budget, or it's major policies that have been agreed to.

On all other matters the MP's can vote how they wish as it will not affect the Government. It is not as good as majority Government, and perhaps Serbia needs a majority Government at this particular time, although a minority Government is legitamate if it has the support of a majority of MP's. Even in the old democracies a minority Governmemt is employed at times.
